Not really.

Valdes Garcia - Valdes
Abidal Balde - Abidal
Puyol Garcia - Puyol
Pique Cubarsi - Pique
Alves Kounde - Kounde
Busquets FDJ - Busquets
Xavi Pedri - Xavi
Iniesta Olmo - Iniesta
Messi Yamal - Messi
Pedro Raphinha - Raphinha
Villa Lewandowski - Lewandowski

Most of Pep's players were stronger and/or bigger physically.

Alves was more physical than Kounde. The only stronger player in the current side than a Barcelona equivalent in terms of speed, intensity is Raphinha vs Villa on the LW. Everywhere else that side was stronger, with more stamina, more intensity everywhere you looked. That's before you enter the technical side of things. Just looking at duels, intensity, speed of play.

Current Lewandowski has no chance of competing with Eto'o or Messi either physically. Messi was so much faster and prime Eto'o was the total package.

RL9 has always been known for his strength and physicality. You should see what his nickname was at Bayern and Dortmund. You should see what he did to Prime Kompany who was one of the strongest players in the game. He's much stronger and bigger than Messi and Eto'o. It's not even close.

Only players like Van Dijk and Lukaku were stronger than RL9.

That supports my point even more. 👍🏻

Messi was much faster than any version of Lewandowski, let alone the oldie we have today. It's always been between size (as in height mostly) vs speed. Messi at pace was devastating. And he had the acceleration and explosion to just burst into pace from standing position.

Physically, there's no player you would ever take ahead of Messi, because speed and acceleration is the most vital attribute there is in football. And Messi was the most devastating player at this. Football is not boxing, by physicality, I mean speed and intensity first and foremost.

If you had to choose between Messi vs Lewandowski, you'd choose Messi's pace and explosion 10 out of 10 times, over Lewa's height and bigger frame advantage.

We aren't talking about pace and Lewandowski probably had a higher recorded top speed in his pomp.

Physically Lewandowski is much stronger and bigger which was the question here.

And there are a huge number of players that are quicker than Messi. He's not the best in terms of speed and acceleration either. I think you've forgotten all the amazing athletes in the game.

What are you talking about. One of the fastest players in his prime over the first 10m. Far more agile and fast than Lewandowski. Shorter build, low center of gravity, he could accelerate quicker than almost any player I've seen.

Those recorded top speeds are a joke. They're recorded after some long sprints, that happen very rarely in a match. Of course over long distances the guy with the longer legs will have an advantage, but in football those type of sprints rarely happen. You rarely are in a position to triger 40-50m sprints.

You haven't seen many players then.

Mbappe, Davies, Adama, Robben all have better acceleration (and pace) than Messi.

The likes of Kaka and Bale were far better athletes with explosive pace, strength, size and acceleration.

Most of Italian Serie A clubs are running this Yugoslavian player scam that nobody is buying nowadays.

Should focus on youth development, instead of recruiting cheap ass kids from the Balkans. That's why Italian NT is basking in the shadows.
