Have to also mention that a single bench player of Westham is probably worth more than entire current Sevilla football club so the achievements of modern PL clubs on global stage are less than underwhelming given their unfair financial advantage.
Spain seem to always been the poorest league of the top historical 5 and it's the two huge city states that have always dominated them. It's not that government has created special policies for that, it's that those two city states are the government.

LL is superior to PL historically (stature of clubs, European success at all levels, best players of all time, best teams of all time), and it won't change for the next 10-20 years unless there's a seismic shift and PL churns out a highly dominant or two side.

These things take a while to change. Serie A is still historically the best league (just slightly above LL) because of what they represented between 1980 and 2006ish.

Yeah the funny thing is, English aren't exactly better at the ball but they are better getting investors. That's something Italy and Spain needs to do better to compete. I would take Spain and Italy experience and talent over England.

I would like to know how many PL clubs are still owned by english people, let alone club members (which is still customary in Spain) instead of single oligarch/int. corpo.
