Mbappe has scored against every major European club, scores for fun against Barca, scored in 2 World Cup finals and has a hattrick in the World Cup final. And he's only 26.
If Mbappe isn't a big game player, then no active player is.

He won a world cup carried by Pigba, Griezmann Kante etc and such a decade ago then he won nothing except shit ligue 1 titles. Turning 27 soon and still 0 CL or golden ball.

Mbappe missed several chances, his brutal form rescued Real several times in the beginning of the season, glad he is slowy getting his normal form back, still dangerous though

I never quite got the obsession with calendar year stats...Football is obviously season-oriented, rather than year-oriented. Every single casual fan knows that Messi scored 91 years in 2012, which is ofc insane, but does not make that sense to focus on.
Season-based stats make much more sense. In this case, Messi's 2011/12 is obviously the best single season in recent memory or even in history, with 73 goals and 30 assists in 60 games only for Barcelona (iirc adding NT games, it was >80 goals in a single season).
In any case, obviously very impressive stats from Mbappe, he has a shot to reach the #4 spot on this list.

Everything revolves around him goals wise. But it will lead to winning very little because just like 2012 Barca it's a team sport. The more angles you cam score from the more dangerous of a team you are. When the going gets tough those 4 goals vs Olympiakos will not help him.
Oh and of course playmaking wise this guy isn't even close to Messi that year who had to deal with Cuenca and Tello as his other forwards often enough
