Yeah it probably won't ever happen because of the fat mans ego.
Nah, he desperately clings to Messi's name at every opportunity. Even now he hopes to get som votes by yapping about the biggest sendoff this club has seen.
Talks about it without asking Messi first. While Messi dodged him at every opportunity and doesn't even mentions his name.

🚨🗣️ 𝗡𝗘𝗪: Joan Laporta (Barcelona president): "Despite how everything happened with Leo Messi's departure, I have no regrets. Barça is above anyone else. It's not what we all wanted, but it was not possible in that moment."

"Out of respect for Messi, our players, and our members, it's not the time to speculate with unrealistic scenarios of his return."
It is unrealistic, this is a fact. Messi would be really stupid at his age to play six months straight without a break like the European players (before the World Cup), including three months with Barca and three in MLS. Laporta's statement in this context is simply realistic. It would be different if he could play with barca until april and then break but miami wouldnt let it happen

Football fans are way too emotional.

Going back to Messi at this stage of his career can completely derail Flick's project. I don't even see how Messi fits into a Flick system in the first place.

Laporta's statement is just to get some votes. He clearly didn't enjoy Messi coming in uninvited and getting the media attention.
No one talked about a possible loan, not now, nor next year. It was just easy speculation by the media to get the clicks.

Dani Olmo is completely useless, offensively and defensively. Talking about systems when we're playing with 10 players every match.
We're again discussing this crap when he would be the best player in the team by far. Him having the body to sustain a lengthy season in Europe is another discussion.

It is clear what he is doing.. trying to position the issues with Messi as being anyone who comments on it negatively are making out 'Messi is bigger than Club'.

Also at same time he is correct to nip it in the bud now and say there is no chance of Messi coming back.

I know Laporta would want Messi back, that's not what I meant.

Laporta's ego won't allow him to distance himself from Messi's farewell and Messi won't ever accept that Laporta will stand beside him when he says goodbye to CN. If Messi would agree for a farewell match Laporta would be non stop yapping in the media how he made it happen and similar shit, he would want to be the center of attention at the game etc.
