Hint don't bench him every time he makes a mistake.

While you start Garcia & Cubarsi no matter how many mistakes they make.

Learn from pop in the NBA have your play play through their mistakes & learn from it

Defended him many times.

Maybe he's just too stupid to play and maintain concentration consistently.

Taken for a ride both on offside trap and marking by random La Liga journeyman.

Need to make him work, because I have stomach ache thinking about Eric CB defending in the big games during the prime time of the season. He needs more continuity and trust from Flick, consecutive games will bring that. He didn't play much lately and you can lose your rhythm, your feeling to be in the right position when it counts.
He needs to chain consecutive games with Cubarsi until the end of the year and then make a decision if an emergency transfer is needed or not.

Oh, emergency transfer is needed anyway. Basically any mediocre La Liga defender has a shot of entering lineup.

And that goes across the entire line, not just centre-backs.

Don't know what's out there available for loan or whatever.

I don't agree here, because Flick's tactic is especially hard to look good as a defender, if the pressing fails upfront. It's no coincidence Flick always tells the attacker is the first defender that fails, if we concede a goal. Araujo was one of the best CBs in the world under Xavi, because he played way less risky and Araujo could shine with his physical strength.
I think many mediocre and even good defenders would look utter crap under Flick. He needs skills from his backline other coaches might see as unimportant, like being fast in the head for the offside trap.

Araujo was absolutely honking under Xavi in 2nd season and lets not forget how often MATS bailed likes of Araujo out that season also.

Even in first two Xavi seasons Araujo had some howlers of big games.
