He just tries too hard sometimes, it's not that he can't get the better of Mendes, he just treats every opponent the same, which is not always a bad thing, but can be problematic when you face defenders of a high level.

In these sorts of games he should recognise the quality of the opponent and try to use his team more and to be more direct, because Mendes is not a LaLiga defender who he can torment all game.

I don't think it's a skill problem but rather the expectation he is placing on himself to always be the showman. With age and experience he will start learning how to impact games outside of the dribble.

Midfield rarely got our strikers the ball in dangerous position, that was the big problem, when they did in the first 20 minutes we created danger but after that it was all down to rashford and yamal to figure it out more or less.
