10 - Lamine Yamal

I don't know if he's the best teenager ever, but I'm not sure how many 16-year-olds have won a EC as a key player, and then at 17 delivered an incredible season finishing 2nd in the Ballon d'Or with a Barcelona side that certainly didn't have players like Ronaldinho, Iniesta, Xavi, Eto'o,….

He wasn't at his usual level yesterday (the team even less so), but still not bad (especially considering he had just returned from injury), in any case, every time he gets the ball, it's danger for the opponents.

Personally, I am absolutely delighted with his performances so far. He's only 18, and we'll see what the future holds.

The problem with him is that the club keeps pushing him as the main man and face of the team, giving him the No. 10 shirt and all that, and him believing his own hype. He's 18, he has more accomplished players like Lewandowski and Raphinha in the same team. He needs someone to sit him down and let him know his place in the team

If anything this game showed me is that Yamal should have won BDO.

PSG would win last season even without Dembouz, we would be 3rd in the league 15 points behind Madrid and go out against first serious team in the CL without Lamine.
We kind of did go out against the first serious team we face in CL KOs. :pep:

But yeah, we wouldn't have won shit last season without him.

Being a bit of a narcissist isn’t a problem as long as you don’t surround yourself with yes men and go down the path of Neymar. We sure as hell know his deadbeat leech of a father won’t tell him what’s what and slap some sense into him if he keeps making bad decisions, but I do hope his agent, who has a lot experience with the biggest narcissist in footballing history, will step in and place down some guidelines, if only to make sure that money keeps flowing in.

His agent is there to collect his % and negotiate his contracts and transfers, not to raise Yamal into a normal human being. No one did that, it's not the kids fault that he only has retards around himself, he was born into it and now he continues with that mentality.

At least the club could give him some boundaries and responsability but it looks like they gave the keys of the club and the team to a 18 year old and he can already do (or not do) whatever he wants. Hard to see that ending in a 20 year top career.

Not really a game to remember but did well enough for a guy having his first start after injury against a very intense team.

The worst thing is not his antics but that international break is knocking on the door and that bald Spanish bastard is running him into ground again.

He'd better takes a little knock against Sevilla and reports issues saving himself from unnecessary games against Georgia and Bulgaria. Focus on your club kid. There are bigger battles to fight.

What exactly are his "antics"? Those benign instagram posts?
As much as people said he is mature for his age and pressure doesn't get to him, he is influenced by all the noise around him.

All the stuff that might derail his career and were pointed out by people, are there and we can't see him properly dealing with them.

It could be part of his social media persona created by agencies for all we know, kind of how Ibrahimovic created the "Zlatan persona". Yamal is naturally self-confident and cocky, and maybe the brand around him just taps into that.

I think all elite players' instagrams are run like by the same 3-4 PR agencies.
