PSG v Barca final would be epic meltdown here, I'm all for it.

But with Flick's stubbornness with creampie and Martin we'll probably get nicked in the semis again.

We had the easiest draw in the histroy of CL last season.
SF this year would be an achievement.
We need luck of the draw again to win CL.

Having said that we will smash the same PSG B team again in the finals.
Lets not forget

FERRAN FIRST HALF MISS, YAMAL PASS.
OLMO MISS.
NUNO RED.

Demb, Kvara, Marq have ACLs? Doubt we'd beat their B team again either.

PSG are not unbeatable.

An otherwise problematic Chelsea side showed everyone how it can be done last summer against first choice XI PSG

People just did not take enough notes from that game: Maresca destroyed them by evading their press altogether not by playing through it. Their keeper hit accurate long balls to wingers or forwards dragged out wide, creating fast transitions in numerical superiority

How many times did we do that tonight? a few or zero. Personnel matters there, TEK can't play such balls.
In any case, we can learn a lot from this defeat and be better prepared for a future meeting

Jesus Christ you're advocating for hoofball (extreme Bayernball).

That's how Hamorim's United scammed some wins.

Nasty.

They are certainly not unbeatable I agree with that, but we will have a hella time beating them playing the way we normally play.

Birdy is right about what Chelsea did, know who also did that that long ball tactic against them and it worked? Xavi. Not getting into Xavi vs flick, just a factual statement

that's where lewa would have come in useless today, like he was two seasons ago, if we used that tactic.

But asking flick to make such adjustments is asking too much as we all are aware

Xavi’s 3-2 is still the best CL win v Lucho’s PSG in last 2 and some seasons.

Xavi haters will find this hard to stomach :mou:

It is very concerning to me that the team has not improved physically at all. In general when you look at psg players they all have much more muscles and are pretty much all faster than barca's.
What have they been doing the whole preseason they don't look any stronger or faster other than Lamine who I see has improved a bit.

Don't think it's motivation tbh. As much as I dislike Psg they have a bit more quality and depth than us. I'd take Mendes and Hakimi any day over Martin and Kounde even though Jules js a class player. We got beat because we gave them too much space and you don't give a team like that so much space to exploit. Ideally game should have ended 1-1 with us keeping it tight and seeing out the game instead of marauding forward like madmen looking for the winner. Flick needs to adjust more in game based on the situation.

So what you saying is, Xavi knew all along.

He even knew he had to sub Lamine off against Nuno Mendes as he only plays well the first 15 minutes against him.

Joan Garcia from what he has shown this season would have helped immensely.

Probably would have saved the goals too, but it's not good to go down that path generally.

It's true. Look at start of the second half. We barely pressed them and let them have the ball. We know Flick LOVES to press and pressure the opponent.. There's only one reason why he wouldn't press the opponent, if he knew we couldn't do it anymore without killing ourselves for rest of the game.

36% possession in the second half. That's not a team trying to win the possession back.

Thanks for Khaled for posting this stat

This. People keep complaining about defense but we were dominated in midfield.

And that's not down to the quality difference between our and PSG midfielders but system.

La Masia tax. Can't play for Barca if you have muscles. I'd thought it was established by now.

I was hoping we started with Eric as the LB. Marting just doesn't cut it in these high-level matches.
And I think Christensen is needed in this defence.

Flicks Man management was poor. He should have taken out Martin after Half TIme. Maybe even Cuba.
Bringing Bernal was worse.
