Nah, roughly the same.

Tek > Mats

Carcelo is an even bigger defensive liability than Martin.

Yamal is better now than he was then.

I think Pedri was coming back from an injury.

Good try, though.

But we should have done better in that game; that I'll give you.

Plus, that PSG team was stronger than the one we will be facing Wednesday due to injuries.

Nice try, though. Get over the Xavi vs. Flick nonsense, trying to create a little narrative already, lol..

From you who is shiting it that Barca may beat PSG and giving every reason can why PSG will be weaker.

As dont want certain players or coach getting any credit.

Trying to make out Tek better than MATS and Gerard better than Cancelo..

That PSG team barely got out their group. They were one late sodgy penalty away to going out bottom I think.

After Barca they then went out to Dortmund without scoring a goal.

Two seasons ago, in the Barça vs PSG match, Luis Enrique talked about pressing Araujo to win the ball. Do you take that into account?” Hansi Flick: “No. That happened in the past, and the situation is different now. I have confidence in Araujo’s strength; he’s an incredible and strong player, ready to give his best, which he has shown in previous matches, and I’m happy he’s in my team.”
Solid reply.

Araujo benefits from the double pivot of Frenkie and Pedri as more options available.

Still can be ropey on ball but can see Pedri and Frenkie are very aware they have to offer him as many simple options as can on ball.

The flip side is they have to do that more than staying in better attacking positions to receive ball when likes of Cubarsi or Garcia have it.

That right hand side of defence with Kounde/Araujo never feels overly safe when playing it out and needs a lot of support from midfield.

Whatever team they start with tomorrow would bet my bottom dollar would not be struggling to get out their group in old format of CL or going out to Dortmund without scoring a goal like that team two years ago did.

About only decent side that PSG team beat were Barca.

Be interesting to see if we can hit them on the counter. With Pedri/De Jong as conductors, we've been shying away from quick transitions.

Feeling a bit bloated on pirouettes and pausa this season. Would like to see that we can switch it up, play more directly. Give it to Yamal early and let him find Rashy on the diagonal.

Barca could have scored 3 or 4 on the break v Sociedad had players finished chances and Pedri/FDJ were at the heart of that.

Its not all that easy to break when teams sit in either.

I want Araujo - Christensen to start.

Want to see how both have progressed under pressure. Last season we didn't see both of them against top opponents.

Letting Frenkie and Pedri dictate tempo has been easier to watch than going ballistic in attack like we did in quite a few games last year.

Matches this season are better managed and less chaotic.

Newcastle being the main example of that. Game was controlled beautifully due to Frenkie and Pedri.

Nah Raphinha is a miss and Garcia is a huge miss.

Raphinha is a miss as he is a starter and also because less pace off bench with Rashford later on etc.

Tek barely saved anything in Europe after that Benfica game.

Its not the huge PSG v Barca game/tie could be later anyway.

I agree with this one. I rate Garcia (the goalkeeper) very highly and he is a huge upgrade on Tek. That itself is a huge miss. Then add Raphinha who is currently world class player.

Folk can agree or disagree on the merits of Lewa/Ferran... but is there a club in the world that has a better two options at CF?

Cant think of any.
Very important point. Most top clubs are struggling to find any good striker at all, and we have a prolific backup who is happy to wait for his minutes every season, which is hard to find.

Promoting Ferran to the starter seems like the logical choice after Lewandowski's body gives out. Keep in mind Ferran will sell for a high amount if we want to go down that road, too.

We can definitely win this, which is not something I would have said with a full XI vs XI, but their entire front 3 is out, it will have knock out effects throughout the team, that and we are at " home" we should get a result.
We are in great form and they're missing important players, I would be disappointed if we lost this one, although in the grand scheme of things its no big deal, we should aim for a win here.

Yea I agree, I said we should rest pedri because if we lost in the grand scheme of things it wouldn't matter, it still wouldn't.

But with them messing their entire front line, it will affect their entire team, they are their for the taking, so let's go for the win.
