8 - Pedri

Pedri was playing how Xavi wanted him to and it restricted him too often.

He played deep on occassion and was world class.. then Xavi would move him up the park again.

Was arguing years ago that Barca needed to go Pedri/FDJ double pivot to get best out of midfield players had.

Barca would be in a far better positon if they had.

no was 2 seasons ago when I thought injuries might have broken him but it was Xavi.

Been enjoying last season from getgo.

Lol nice try with the Xavi card.

Again we remember, you can't change your views lol

Even tried to shade him for vitiha last season, trying to find an issue with his work rate and stamina as per usual.

I like that Xavi attempt though I really do, pinned against the wall you had to try something lol.

No, wasn’t shade. Was analyzing differences.

Yes, Vitinha can cover more than Pedri.

Vitinha takes those baby pitty patter steps. Makes it look like he has run alot but actually hasn't.

PS: Lamine approves of this post.

Except he factually doesn't, has all who disagreed with you highlighted.
I always assumed Vitinha was faster or has better accelaration, cause Pedri will rely on feints and turns to rid himself of defenders and create space for himself whereas Vitinha doesn't.

Pedri on average also plays higher than Vitinha. I just checked heat maps.

Scholes:

“The number 1 is Pedri. When I saw him against Newcastle , I said, ‘Wow!’... He’s like a combination of Xavi and Iniesta . We’re not just talking about his feet, but above all his football intelligence. Sometimes he finds himself in difficult situations, and the way he overcomes them with a little one-two or a shoulder feint is incredible. His technique is brilliant,” he said.
”The best thing was that when Newcastle scored, there were eight minutes of stoppage time left. I thought it was going to be exciting... But Pedri had the ball for seven of the eight minutes. He took complete control of the game. I thought it was brilliant.”
