Only watched the second half but he was my stand-out player. His positioning was on point and always there to intercept, recover the ball and advance play. I think it was his pre-assist that led to Rashford's header. All in all solid performance.

The pre-assist for that one was Raphinha's great hold-up play next to the corner flag. But he could've passed to Raphinha.

If he continues to play like this, EPL sides are gonna throw a mountain of money at him. Better not fool around. The only ones that get close to our midfield duo are Vitinha and Neves. But even then I think I prefer Pedri and De Jong to that duo.

pedri and de jong are the clear superior tandem.

The comparison to PSG midfield only makes sense in context of 3 man midfield.

They already are from what I have heard.. and clubs you wouldnt want Frenkie going to have been rumoured to be in the mix.

Yeah 97% passing. It was the one he tried to play over top early to Raphinha I think in 2nd half.

Highest pass % of any player and as stats show can hide behind this idea of 'all easy passes'. Was literally most progressive player on park with ball.

The great Tonali?

The lowest pass % on the park at 60%.. zero carries.. less defensive contributions than Pedri/FDJ.

Sad part is Frenkie did same to Barella in semis last year and had him chasing shadows and barely able to pass the ball.. but Barca couldnt defend in the box.

Just not sure the rest of team bar Lamine/Raph and J Garcia are even close to Pedri/Frenkie level to win it but time will tell.
