I think Isak is saying that Newcastle verbally allowed him to go, and went back on their word.

Which is true, but afaik it was provided that they could sign a suitable replacement.

First option Ekitike, whom Liverpool signed before opening negotiations with Isak

Second option Sesko who chose Man Utd

So whatever statement Isak is releasing now, is disingenuous.

Lick your wounds son, and be paid alot to stay in Toon. It's not that bad there unless you are looking for birds. But then again your demanding a move to Liverpool, so not like that's an improvement.

he most probably was naive enough to accept something verbal
With all due respect, football business is not some boys scout camp. If tens of millions Euros depend on some agreement, then I demand this in writing. If not him, then his agent should know better anyways. That's the reason release clauses are made for. But the problem is, if you force your club to sign a release clause for you, they will offer you less salary in return and neither Isak, nor his agent wanted that.

ot like clubs give a fuck about a player and his contract if he isn't "needed" anymore
This also depends on the club. Some clubs try actively to force players out they don't want, some not. We do this as well thanks to LaLiga's ffp, but I don't know if Newcastle behaves similary, I don't follow them close enough.

It's abso-fucking-lutely not a scout camp. But even if we're talking tens or even hundreds of millions, manners still matter and we're still humans - I believe Isaak was promised something when he signed and now Newcastle walks it back... And since it isn't in writing Newcastle are in their right, but we still have feelings and opinions and we're humans with all our flaws and/or good sides.
Sure contracts ARE contracts, but Barca for example very rarely bitches if and when somebody wants to leave - a contract between a fucking human being and a club is different to most other contracts we have between corporations etc. Sure Newcastle, flex you muscles and keep him on the bench...

Footballers are treated like inhuman pieces of meat these days by clubs, officials and even us fans. They're dehumanised with all the talk of them in transfer fees and their positions on the pitch.

I still see no argument, why it wasn't written down then. If both parties agree, why don't they sign it officially? Do they want to save ink? Come on, something is fishy here.
It's most certainly not that clear as Isak makes it out to be. The verbal agreement could have been a different one than Isak tells us here, nobody knows that.

You're not wrong... but it's most probably not as clear as Newcastle makes it out to be either. But again, Barca would never try to keep a player who doesn't want to stay - if the money they get is reasonable than bye and good luck... whatever the fuck the contract says. The contract prevents a club of loosing money on their "investment", but with all those oil-clubs with money a mortal can't even imagine it has really changed shit - Newcastle now know they can't get Isaak to play well for them, but they simply don't giva a single fuck and EPL "FFP" is a fucking joke designed in favor of the clubs to go wild while LL teams have to fire-sale players even when qualified for CL. Shit is way off...

And will Newcastle "lose" money on Isaak? They sure as fuck won't but their "small club mentality" will now prevent other "high profile" players to join the club - but yes, the CONTRACT...

Because our club is too proud to hold a player against his will.

Legendary Cruyff quote: "If you have second thoughts about playing for Barcelona, you are no longer of service to us"

But not all clubs operate like this.

Newcastle are a CL side which FFP are restricting what their owners can pump in and becoming a modern club as big as Liverpool, City etc.

They want to protect their interests. People didn't mind when PSG done this with Baguette or Nipples with Osimhen.
