In his defence when he said that we may have been in 1:1 as it was prior to big renewals.
And it was probably reliant after renewals on the VIP seats going through for the transfer fees.
With VIP injection counted we would probably be OK with renewals and the signing of Joan+Nico/Diaz.
While I guess that they would have had the backup of selling Fermin or Casado to raise funds if VIP wasn't counted in time.
It is what it is. In the end we will probably do what Laporta usually does, power up with 6 donuts and squeek through for another successful season.
With limited funds I prefer that we keep the squad together, added Joan and Rashy and only lost Inigo but signed a guarantee than fire sale Casado, Fermin or something.
In the end though 120m spent over three seasons is absolute pennies and we couldn't have done it without the major blessing of LaMasia, Lamine and Flick.
We should really have had a Milan 2010s falloff with that lack of purchasing power.
And of that 120m, 30m is the purchase and sale of Roque over 6 months which we can choose not to factor, bringing our transfers under 6 figures. Crazy for a club this size.
