Not really fussed about it.
He is class, but his position is well covered, even if it is a level lower, we have a player coming in that has potential to be generational.

I would take a year of uncertainty and a bit lower level in that spot, than have a "veteran" and a generational player fighting for the same spot for 2-3 years.

I hope he won't fuck us over and leave for free next summer.
I dont think he will leave next summer. But even if he does its not much of a problem this time. I don't think he has the capacity to fuck us over.
We have Casado in his spot. He might not be as good as FDJ, but he is good enough to start for us.
And by the time 2026 comes, Bernal will have a year of 1st team football in his boots. And he and Casado can rotate easily next year.

I honestly think his renewal till 2030 will be a hindrance to Bernal & Casado come the 2027 season. Bernal looked to have a far higher ceiling, and Casado would happily be the rotation player in the squad. They just need a year or two of 1st team football to get to that level.

Like everybody who is a free agent, I don't understand the question.

You guys are coming up with scenarios that even true c*nts in football would never do.

The bias against him is strong lol.

He’s renewing. The whole situation where he will play one last year left and decides he needs to leave cause Bernal is getting ahead is not happening.

It's impossible for him to screw Barca over.

Even leaving on a free will provide a huge relief on wages lol.
It's true that maybe it's a good thing that we see Bernal for a couple of months before we extend Frenkie. We all know Frenkie will get a huge salary, at least the same as he gets now. That could be a problem down the line if Bernal is the real deal, Frenkie looses his starting spot and we'll have a player with top 3 salary on the bench. It could quickly become a problem and we'll again try to force Frenkie out and he won't leave because of his salary and sunny BCN.

I don't think anybody in the club is thinking long term.

The reason he didn’t leave was not because of sunny BCN or salary.
