Laporta: "In principle, there will be no more new signings this summer. We have a good squad, and the coach wants to strengthen the first team with players from the reserve, so we don't expect new deals at the moment." [

This guy lol

I'm not surprised. Registering our current players is going to be a battle. If you look around in Europe only Liverpool and PSG have fairly complete squads. All the other clubs have holes in their squads.

Everyone knew we needed a:
1- Starter GK
2- Backup LB
3- Backup LW.
That was the priority.
2/3 is not a bad business, but the severity of not getting a backup LB is quite high. And I will deem our transfer window as meh.

Ya ya, we have registration problems. I know. But we are competing in the UCL, they won't give us extra points for our financial difficulties, would they? So yeah.

Now if somehow this Ter Terrorist situation gets resolved, even for half the season, I see us trying for a LB. But that won't happen anytime soon.

That's bad. We don't have the squad depth to challenge for all the titles.

LB and RB will be huge issues.
Flick discovered Garcia late in the season. I'm sure he'll use him much more from now on, so Kounde gets his rest to stay fit for the crucial part of the season.
Martin also gained much experience during the crucial time of the season, where he had to replace Balde and I expect Flick to use him more likewise.

If Flick rotates them often enough and Kounde and Balde stay fit for the end of the season, these positions should be okay. And let's see what will happen with Jofre Torrents. He still has time to convince Flick.

Yeah, weak spot last season was defense.
This will always be the case, even if Flick would have the free pick from all the defenders in the world, thanks to the nature of his playing style. There are no defenders in the world, who will always look good defending in the center of the pitch. This system aims at high risk, high reward. But in return, we get the best attack in the world.

I am ok with the squad considering the financial situation. The biggest problem remains backup LB but we'll see what Jofre can do.

The problem is long term that we don't fill the holes and postpone it every year. Next season we will need a starting ST and probably CB, a backup LW and probably still a backup LB. That's 200+ mil that we won't have and Lewa and Inigo are getting older.

The problem is not the squad despite the financial situation.

But that we were repeatedly told there was no financial situation.

-Pau Vitor gone for sizeable fee.
-Lenglet off the books,
-Ansu gone with wage % off.
-8m from Todibo
-5m from Putty
-B team sales for over 5m.

And still can't register Joan Garcia, let alone Rashford.

It doesn't add up. Not even Martin from Accounting and his DRC sponsorship can save this.

Hope so we offload Christenseen, Romeu and don't register Ter Stegen.

Other then that we don't have in team leeches.

Next year get better RB/LB subs and we are good.

You are ignoring all the renewals we have to register too.

That's true. But we were being sold the idea that we were back to 1:1, after renewals and could afford Nico's investment without exits.

That was clearly not the case as the narrative quickly turned to needed a big sale to finance it.

And then to needing exits just to register a loan and a modest goalkeeping investment.

As some as said, without Flick, the club le perception would be in shambles and Laporta would be in a food induced coma.

Well this is true, but for players like Rapinha, Kounde and De Jong it will be positive for FFP.

Not sure, depends how much their salary increased. And the De Jong renewal doesn't exists, it doesn't look like they will finish it this summer windows and he'll go into the last season of his contract which is always dangerous.

And then to needing exits just to register a loan and a modest goalkeeping investment.

A loan sounds like it's something cheap but in this case it's not, it's very expensive for FPP with the huge salary that we gave to Rashford.

It's gonna be a shitshow with Laporta and Tebas again.

The first thing to ask is why FFP only accounts 20% of a transfer fee towards FFP. That effectively amortizes a big transfer fee to five years, and an austerity measure that shrinks investment.

If had sold Araujo for 60m, then only 12m would count towards FFP of the fee.

Regards to Rashford it is 14m FFP mass for one year only. That should not be a big issue in functional terms. In England we have Liverpool generating 600m / year and spending 300m in transfers. Right now in Spain we have a Stadium less Barcelona generating 900m in the year and unable to register 25m + wages amortizing over 6 years + a 14m wage without transfer fee.

I thought the FFP rules were relaxed but clearly it only works for two parties. Madrid who wanted to invest and already held a high salary margin, or Atleti who are diluting share value with capital increases, which somehow count as income while VIP seat sales do not.

But anyways back to us, the board just needed to be more modest and say that priority is financing the return to Camp Nou as quick as possible and transfers will need to be in check until then as LaLiga rules are counter productive to both investments simultaniously.

Not sell hot smoke that we could get a 60m+ player like Nico or Diaz while reality is Rashford is going to push us to our limit to register.
