Shambolic management of the club, as usual. Bartomeu , Rosell, Laporta..whoever you get running this club - efficient and professional management is something you just can't seem to get.
It seemed SO obvious just looking at the stadium that there was NO WAY it would be ready last season (even though they promised it would). They then follow that up with PR campaigns, more promises to the fans, counting finances incorrectly, trying to buy players basis money you can't spend, etc.
This should have ALWAYS been a 2026-27 reopening - anybody with the slightest experience in real estate knows things don't go as per expected timelines.
Also regarding us blaming the city council - I'm no fan of the burecuracy here but it's a very stupid argument blaming the city council for something as big as this. You're talking about public safety here - imagine if something were to go wrong and it came out that the city council rubber stamped something on an expedited manner.
Construction is one of those places you NEED to stick to policy. Get shit right by the papers or come back when it's done properly. You want to know the skyscraper/stadium/theater you are in has gone through the most stringent standards.
Lastly - this city is well aware of what the Camp Nou means to it. It's one of the most visited sites across Spain, and the revenue and tourism it generates (especially the kind it wants, the tourists with money that also visit the stores on Pg de gracia) means a lot to Barcelona. They want this shit done just as much as anyone else.
