Camp Nou

Shambolic management of the club, as usual. Bartomeu , Rosell, Laporta..whoever you get running this club - efficient and professional management is something you just can't seem to get.

It seemed SO obvious just looking at the stadium that there was NO WAY it would be ready last season (even though they promised it would). They then follow that up with PR campaigns, more promises to the fans, counting finances incorrectly, trying to buy players basis money you can't spend, etc.

This should have ALWAYS been a 2026-27 reopening - anybody with the slightest experience in real estate knows things don't go as per expected timelines.

Also regarding us blaming the city council - I'm no fan of the burecuracy here but it's a very stupid argument blaming the city council for something as big as this. You're talking about public safety here - imagine if something were to go wrong and it came out that the city council rubber stamped something on an expedited manner.

Construction is one of those places you NEED to stick to policy. Get shit right by the papers or come back when it's done properly. You want to know the skyscraper/stadium/theater you are in has gone through the most stringent standards.

Lastly - this city is well aware of what the Camp Nou means to it. It's one of the most visited sites across Spain, and the revenue and tourism it generates (especially the kind it wants, the tourists with money that also visit the stores on Pg de gracia) means a lot to Barcelona. They want this shit done just as much as anyone else.

It is true that the whole project has beeen poorly managed and that a big part of the responsability falls on Laporta, but it is also true that Limak isn't exactly executing this contract on a supersonic cadence. The steelstructure for the third tier has been under construction for ages now, remember the Empire state build has a steel structure many times larger but was built way faster (under 6 months) and is a perfectly safe structure 90+ years later. This is what happens when you bring in cheap low skilled workers, Camp Nou is still many months away from being a suitable entertaiment venue.

Sounds like they are now really considering to delay the return to January.
Might be for the best.

You mean August 2026.

Initially, we were supposed to be back 9 months ago.

I don't trust anything that they say re. stadium.

Also expect major adjustments to what it will cost. Whole project is a once in a lifetime opportunity to steal money and I bet it is happening as we speak.

9 months of lost Revenue at Camp Nou.

Barca could have been 1:1 maybe 6 months ago if not for choosing Limak?

No faster construction companies in the world ?

Limak does great job so far. I never heard of a stadium of this size being done in less than 5 years.

The dates set by the club were fairytale stuff.
Came here to say exactly this... dates set by the club were optimistic af, in reality we're ahead of a realistic schedule. IF we play a game here before the end of the year it'll actually be a great success, not a fuckup as some here claim. And I think we'll play here this year :barcaflag:

It's still AHEAD of a realistic schedule when one looks at other huge stadiums like ours being built - if we move in this year it's still a fucking success.

The construction never stopped, it's going on. What I find wrong are the false promises of early openings and timelines.

Limak seem to work on their timeline, independent from whatever comes out of Barca officials. They already laid the steel beams for the third tier. I thought Gamper opening would put that on a pause and the crew would focus on the raw interior of Camp Nou. The new service tunnel in the right corner also looks far from completion.

I read somewhere that each crew is specialized on certain parts of the project. So you can't transfer crews easily from one part to another to speed things up. Makes sense.

Club is delusional about these things. If you have workers specialized in something, they have to do that type of job or else they sit, do nothing, and get paid.

I think they know best what to do in this case.

Good to hear that for example plumbers don't do electricity and vice versa - I'm taking my son there as soon as it opens and I would like for him to survive his first trip to Camp Nou

They need to get the heavy structure completed. Still a lot of heavy beams everywhere on site. That is not going to go down well with safety.

They should have the entire structure done except for the roof.
