Marcus Rashford

I have also seen him many many times struggle to control the ball, or fuck up a pass, or shoot out of the stadium. I watch full 90 mins of him over a decade, not one game against PSG.

You are posting very select moments to try to prove he is a superstar. I am refusing to buy it. Like I said you can make videos like this about very average players like Lingard for example, too.

And yet, in the biggest match, he delivered. That's what we need. Someone who will show up if needed for a big occasion.

What videos. That's not a season highlight reel. That's one match in which PSG could not handle him.

In places that is a joke of a video. Practically everything from 23 to 45 seconds is him giving the ball away or fucking it up and losing it.

Yes, that's what happens often with attacking players. I'm not saying he will not lose balls lol, just that he has ability to make a difference in big games, and he did last season for Villa in the biggest one.

That's all. He's not a bum like it was said above.

Season higlights reels are the same. And in his case it would be one main season from 10 anyway.

Like I said, I am not doubting he has some ability. But you are deluding yourself into thinking he's extremely talented based on highlights videos, which is rookie football fan number 1 mistake. You're too old to believe in compilation videos, for fuck sake. I normally like you as a poster but you are better than this.

I am not even saying he has no talent, just that you are overestimating it based on out of context videos.

And I agree with you.

Seems you think I am saying he is a bum, and I think you're saying he is a superstar. When the truth is we both meet somewhere in the middle of decently talented, but no world beater.

Look at Rashford’s season under Ten Hag. 2022/2023? That wasn’t purple patch. That was a motivated player.
I have already debunked that season.

10 of his 17 league goals in 10 games from Jan to Mar. Burst of scoring form. The fans wanted him dropped before the World Cup and he cooled off towards the end of the season. It was the definition of a purple patch of scoring, as has been proved by him being useless since then, and a lot before then.

He did well statistically, but his all;-round game was poor as ever. I have heard many United fans saying even when he scores his all-round game is poor, and that is what I see when I watch him too.

Not you, but heard people saying he's a bum. He's not a bum. That's precisely the reason Flick likes him.
Fair enough. I never said he was terrible. I don't particularly rate him but he has some uses. I still consider him a risk of a loan signing though, but he does have some upside if it works out well.

To be a superstar you need to offer those things he showed vs PSG at home in almost every game. He's not a superstar because he has consistency issues. He is not consistent at a high level.

It's a pointless discussion. If he was consistent and a superstar, and if he didn't have problems, he'd be 70m like Diaz or more. Not free on a 1 year loan.

It's not just that. His top level doesn't come close to Salah's, Neymar's, Hazard's etc either. He is simply nowhere near as talented as them. Nobody except very biased United fans would think he was, lol.
