Yildiz was brought for free by Juventus just 2 years ago. Same idea as before, spot these players before they become known names and are highly rated. Stop looking at young players from purely a La Masia angle, as if a young player form a different football culture should somehow resemble a La Masia talent, which is what I guess it's happening. The memorable senior Barcelona teams had several key players that broke the mold a bit and brought different qualities to the table compared to traditional Masia made talents.

He was a highly rated youth player that didn't resign with Bayern and signed for juve, Barca and many other big name clubs were in for him.
So nothing like you suggest.
Barca sign these kind of players all the time and park them in the B team.
I swear if you just take the time to do a Google search you won't say certain things.

Fun thing is we do follow those players but never end up signing them

Seems like we don't sign not the right ones. Or maybe Barca B is not a good place for players that come AFTER their main formation years already passed.

I'd be curious why that happened. Probably more assurances of first team football so fair enough.

I don't think so. He joined their U19. And it was 2022, we could have given 1st team assurance to him aswell.
We signed Emre Demir, who was regarded higher at the time.
Yildiz was a bit of a donkey actually and I didn't mind we missed out at the time.
