Makes sense. UEFA is all about sugardaddy clubs now. They don't give a fuck about clubs struggling to keep up without selling themselves to some oil state.

We move on and fuck them. FFP rules that demand from clubs to compete with State of Qatar.. And then fine them when they try.

Good point. Pretty hilarious actually.

UEFA and FIFA collects every corrupt money they can and then blames teams for trying to compete vs these dirty teams or countries. It's a joke.

Javier Tebas shared Barcelona’s confidential financial information with Athletic Club officials during a meeting held just days before Nico Williams' renewal. The Basque club was given access to Barça’s interim financial statements and audit reports. After the meeting, Athletic Club passed on the details to Nico Williams in an attempt to pressure his family and create doubts in the player’s mind. [@MiguelGalanCNFE] #fcblive

So the obvious question is why aren't we suing this clown?

Who cares?

If morality among the football community was fair, a Barca team that was the most entertaining in Europe, having spent no money, being member owned, and relying on kids from the youth system, would be the most popular team in Europe right now.

But Barca are more hated than ever.

Conclusion : Prioritising PR over profitability is absolute lunacy.

Well Madrid made just over 1.2 billion with just 24million profit thanks to magical accounting.

i guess we still have a ton of bad debt and interest payments. Barcelona generally havent been a healthy club for 20+ years. You can go and read articles from the Gaspart years, the summer we signed Riquelme, where we basically had no money and tons of debt.

Madrid 300m+ in the red on transfers over the past three seasons. And that's excluding Mbappe's massive wages and sign on fee that I think they have managed to perform some funky accounting with.

So yes, if we go further back there are some big sales but the major point of difference is how they managed to offset the cost of Bernabeu through the Covid period and also somehow manage to not pay deferrals. Or if they did, not have the deferrals impact the FFP.

Logically, the stadium re-build, deferrals + covid would have sent them under. Well, it almost sent us under without a stadium rebuild and we are on a decade long recovery. While they are... spending 400m defecit in 3 years.
