That's because our game changed completely for our defensive line and he missed the first half of the season where the team got used to it. Now it'll hopefully be a different story with him starting pre-season. Most important for him is staying fit and understand and get used to Flick's tactic by training daily.
This season will be do or die for him. Either he gets his starting spot back or he'll most likely leave.
Are they willing to pay the same transfer fee as for Jonathan David by any chance.

The Ronaldo Araujo that played under Xavi, would be our best signing of this window.
How do we get that back? You take off the leash you put on him. A great Araujo is a player that is super aggressive, super risky, a bull in a china shop style of defender.
Unfortunately, after the PSG game, we castrated the bull, by the whole fanbase criticising him for the above. The main things he is good at.
Araujo will never be perfect. He will always make the odd error. But so did Sergio Ramos. What Araujo can be is pretty God damn great a majority of the time, if you allow for the fact that the odd error is going to be in there.
The Araujo we have now, an emasculated, tepid, scared to tackle, passive player is no good to anyone. Not even to a low block defense.
But the fans need to take some responsibility in creating that version of Don URUGUAYO.

Is it the fans fault that Araujo gets turned inside and out by a tired player? Is the fans fault that Araujo gets beaten to the ball by a 37 year old centre-back? Is it the fans fault that Araujo commits stupid fouls and concedes penalties for Uruguay?
Is it also the fans fault that Araujo stops playing and raises his arm for an offside all the time?
Some of you guys need to stop treating him like an 18 year old prospect. He should be in his prime and a leader yet is not performing like it. He is what he is. A deeply flawed CB with some qualities that we need, but he also need to perform well.

Just perform well and don't fuck up all the time at critical moments and everyone will treat you like a hero.

Ter-Stegen comparison is a good one.
It’s amazing how people still think this guy is something special given how dumb he is defensively and poor technically he is on the ball.

Actually if you go back to around 180-190 page in this very thread you can find likes of serghei and DonAK sucking this guy off and calling him one of the top CBs in the world.
And since then he has been exposed so he is being called out accordingly, yet you're still slopping on ter Stegen's dick after all these years.
