Man Utd won’t loan Rashford out in July.

They will try to push him and sell him until they can. So an option for him probably becomes realistic late in the window which isn’t disastrous, but not ideal either in case it falls through at the end.

Leao is way too expensive and too high status imo. I wouldn't mind having Raphinha at LW and Olmo/Fermin at CAM. I'm skeptical to F9 with the players we have. Better rotate Lewy and Ferran at CF then. Would prefer a cheaper backup to Raphinha, hopefully a younger player who can develop.

Leao would be expensive in the long run, but short term I think Milan would be fine with instalments and don't think his salary demand is much higher than what we were giving to Nico, so his whole deal might come in cheap this year if we factor in the 62m release clause of Nico.
And we are improving our finances, so Leao's deal would not be that much of a burden come next year.

That said, we should ideally be going cheap players for backup this summer. As was the case, we all were thinking of before the Nico saga started.
We need backups anyways. Better players than Ansu and Pau Victor is all we need to do the trick.

So we can easily go for a left footed CB. Getting Rashy on loan should easily enable this.

I still believe we will need to sign a LW this summer because next summer we will need a starting #9. I highly doubt we will be spending $150M+ next summer for a LW and ST combined.

I also think that it needs to be of the profile of a Nico, Diaz, Leao type player.
