19 - Lamine Yamal

I agree with that part, but we have to look at how many renewals he has left, if we are paying him 30m base at 18 + bonuses.

What will that number be at 23.

At least now, his next contract can be high without being ridiculous.
He will get obscene contracts... get used to it.

Whatever dream the media is selling right now... he will earn a shit ton more.

Don't think so. This board is levels about those incompetents we had before. This is still a top level contract. It's the smart decision for all parties.

Don't think 30m gross for example would be a crazy contract for him. Even at 17.

Just can't let the bums follow suite like Barto did with Messi.

based on everything they club as done with renewals so far, I believe the 16m gross number plus bonuses.

They've only really handed out crazy contracta to new signings, who they wanted to convince to join.

His next contract I'm sure will at least double the base and easier bonuses.

By 22/23 he's making 30m to 40m net isn't bad

Yeah, it is. 30m fixed considering our issues is excessive. You can upgrade the contract later on.

Plus, there is no better place for Yamal. Don't tell me he is gonna go at PSG to play finals in France vs mighty Reims.

Even Lewandowski's contract you could argue isn't terrible considering we signed him as the best striker in the world, or at worst top two. Not terrible thinking at that time I mean.

His salaries have been 24, 26m, 32m and next season 26m.

All gross.

It was a gamble I guess. Probably didn't expect him to turn into a tractor so soon.

Kounde, Raphinha, Christensen, Inigo are on alright salaries.

The best player in the world has usually always played for Barca/RM or a Serie A giant (Milan or Juve, sometimes Inter) when they were good.

Rarely Bayern. Rarely EPL. Never oil clubs.

This is a good contract for a player in his first elite season at the club, and he and his agent are no doubt satisfied. Sure, he starts to turn into a full monster of a player, more money are gonna follow.

He wants money over sporting project and club legacy... a sale is the only option later on. That's my position.

Agreed, lewa was a good signing then and a even better one in retrospect.

But he and gundogan is the only ones, a few can bring up as players with high salaries.

The only PSG/Newcastle/City petrodollar scenario is viable if Barca collapse financially once again. Under Laporta I don't see this happening.

For context Bartomeu gave Umtiti 20m gross per year.

We gave Kounde, an established player wanted by Chelsea as well 12m gross per year. Inigo is on 9m gross per year. Raphinha was also on around 12m. Not sure what he is on now.

Yeah, probbaly not as many bonuses, and shorter contract though. Lamine imo is easily best paid in the team by 2026.

The disease of oil clubs and EPL is one that needs to be solved, though.

Teams like Barca or Inter (w/ Hansi and Inzaghi) would mop the floor with Europe with huge budgets and under the table salaries.
