So Celta to Europa League together with Betis. Don't expect too much from them but hopefully they will bring a few solid player and at least be somewhat competitive.

Rayo to the Conference league playoff round. Not even sure they will manage to go through to the league stage but with their old team and not much squad depth I expect them to struggle a lot next season in La Liga if they do.

Leganes relegated alongside Las Palmas and Valladolid.

I was surprised to know that this is Rayo second appearance in Europe, I don't remember them at all in Europa league.

Spain are likely losing that 5th CL spot next year with both Celta and Rayo unlikely to go far. They could do like Osasuna in 23/24 when they singlehandedly took Spanish clubs out of the race.

We'll see how this will work longterm but I think any league besides EPL that will get a 5th CL spot will struggle to hold onto it the next season.

Sorloth hat trick. Lol
20 goals now this season.

If Simeone didn't love cardio man so much, maybe things could have been a bit different from Atleti.
And how many of those were in the late game, when he came in with fresh legs against a tired opponent? I don't want to badmouth him, but with that logic you could also have said Joselu was a high tier striker. It's always easier to score in the end as a joker, than scoring consistenly while starting.

He played 5 matches for 90 minutes this season, scored only in one of them twice at home against Leganes. Many other games he started an played 60-80 min, he didn't score as well. Look it up on Transfermarkt.

He's not bad, but certainly not great either and soon 30 years old.

edit: Zero CL goals as well.

I Hear yah.

But with all that he's still been significantly better than Cardioman man this season and they team would have been better served to play him, that's the point.

Not everything requires a devil's advocate point of view, especially when one player is so clearly better than the other this season, when cardioman as been awful.

Villarreal will probably drop back in the league next season, now that they have CL.

Tends to happen whenever they have European football.

But maybe not since most of the teams that will be challenging for that 5-7 spot has European football.

Betis playing in Thursdays, while Villarreal and Athletic plays Tuesday or Wednesday will probably be hardest hit
