Surprised Deco didn't mention anything about his contract renewal unless I've missed it. IIRC it was reported few months ago it was already verbally agreed but seen nothing about since then.

Would def like to add another year or two (since he's younger and very durable contract till 2029 shouldn't be a problem) to his contract as we did with Raphinha. Ideally we shouldn't let key players (younger than 28) to have less than two years on their contracts when negotiating power really gets into their hands.

Well, Deco just got off 2 year vacation. Cut him some slack.

Guy basically did nothing. Few signings few exits and few renewals in few years. Now is overwhelmed suddenly and looks for some West Ham reject to help him.
