Hottake, but a lot of the Portuguese league stuff is overrated. Many of their players, coaches struggle in other leagues. There has been a weird fixation on the Primeira in the last decade or so. Mourinho is the exception but seems like all these clubs are trying to find the next him.

Difference is others were mostly coming from Porto and Benfica.

Amorim made Sporting relevant for the first time in 20 years.

Bartomeu and the Glazers competing for bottling the greatest foundation ever of a sports team.

Manutd's luck finally ran out. Played against 10 men in every knock out until the final.

At this point Amorim would serve better as Nayib Bukele's clone than as a football manager. lol

In any case, I'm enjoying this result not least for the airheads on this forum who rate him over Flick. :ROFLMAO:

Put Flick at this United team and they would be relegated, lol.

Basta yaaaaaaa, Cabron ! y Bona nit 🥂
Utd are basically the opposite of Barca.

One club continually has amongst the highest net spends in Europe, year after year, only to somehow make themselves worse and worse.

The other rises from the ashes without enough money to even buy a fire extinguisher to put out the fires burning around it.

Despite the whole world seeing it on fire, when the trophies are there to be handed out, it's Barca's burnt hand that is there to lift them.

Our successes are equally miraculous as their failures.

We shouldn't be this good, just like they shouldn't be this bad.

Enjoy it while it lasts 🥂

The difference is the culture of the club and the youngsters. Real care.

Yea sure, Amorim lover !

For one, he's a far better man manager and knows to get the best out of the available squad. He'd have kept Rashford and made him run. With him, Man Utd gets top 6 finish.

The feeling is, United just hit a bottom. Like a real bottom. They lost money, any Europe etc. also any attraction for top players.

This is the lowest of the low AND I don't see a quick fix. Not with these players. The squad needs total change.

Big changes must happen. This off-season.
That's right. This downward spiral has been going on for more than a decade, though. First it was the managers as scapegoats, now it's the players mentality and quality. The academy was neglected thinking buying sprees like Chelsea will solve the problem. The arrival of Pep and Klopp schools of football further deepened the problem. Man Utd didn't catch this trend and they still play this chaotic orthodox Ferguson football that is outdated. Ferguson wasn't the greatest tactician, but IMO is one of the GOATs invested in strong mentalities. To give a modern example - Cholo Simeone.

It's an insult to compare Barça at its lowest to the likes of United and Milan. Barcelona is more than just a club and it overcame such challenges 20 years ago and even worse challenges 50 years ago. Barcelona is just too big to suffer such a fate, Barcelona has never missed European football and continously played European football since 1955.

Exactly and even bringing in the hottest coming up coach in the world didn't change shit then you should be scared. It's not the coach. It's the players and the organisation. Why are there still players from the era which won nothing? Sack them, rent them or get rid of them. Finally. End of an era. Shitty era.

Same goes for the organisation. Review everything and fix everything you possibly can.
