He's been employed for 3 years now and had the scouting experience. Given the budget I expect him to come up with some good options for Flick.

He has the toughest job among all the top teams for sure.

For one he has to wait until the summer or late summer begins to know what the salary cap margin possibly can be and what he can spend, and by then some of the transfer targets he might have had in mind might be in negotiations with other clubs.

Then there's the issue convincing those players to join us without their registration being an issue.

This hurts the manager/team as well as you'd ideally want new signings to join the team in pre-season to make the adaptation process quicker.

Deco had nothing to work with. Not saying he’s good, rather an unknown.

Obviously cannot make moves until we know what’s the budget. Others can and we’re at a disadvantage.

We bought Olmo without knowing our budget.

We had already delivered the budget by that point. Simply too many unknowns as of now.

But say you’re right. Since Olmo was made aware of our difficulties and was willing to play ball. Who else is gonna be that desperate?

It’s impossible to make moves early, early July being the best case scenario.

E: didn’t see @khaled_a_d posted the same.

You know what I mean, we didn't comply with the budget in the end if we couldn't register Olmo.

You can make moves even now and make them official in July. Hope Deco is working on something already but I wouldn't bet on it. After a few years I want to see some results (signings) not only talk. How long can he and Laporta go on excuses? Bartomeu left the club more than 4 years ago, when will Laporta become responsible?

With what did Deco earn your optimism?

There's some stability now. Flick's 2nd year in and both communicate about team needs. Full pre-season with all players available in contrast to last summer where many were missing.

Everything hinges on that VIP seats approval. But there is work to be done regardless. Fati, Lenglet..

I don't think anyone is optimistic about Deco, it is just that we don't know how good or bad he is.

And considering the club is actually in a good position, there is no reason for unnecessary pessimism

You really think Tebas would count VIP seats revenue even if they are bulit until we return to CN? I think he'll count it only when we return to CN and even then he could find a loophole.
