Peak tiki-taka is differrent though and simply superior to this style. Still blew away Madrid, but 6-2, 5-0. More control, more hopeless for the opposition.

But I'd take this madness Flick-ball to the watered down version of tiki-taka that happened post Pep.
Peak tiki-taka had all-time greats all over the field.

If we even put in 1 or 2 all-timers in defense, this style is winning CLs too (and in style, which we already have).

Xavi's average points and La Liga title on the back of Ter Stegen player of the season was a measuring stick up until an hour. Now it's peak pep tiki taka.
Carry on. Would not feed the trolls much though.

No doubt it can. But as said, not many top defenders that are the total package around. Club doesn't need just another player that has issues in defense. Needs a seasoned defender, 27-32 years old, plenty of experience, good on the ball, and top in traditional 1 vs 1 defending.

That sounds like a task for Santa. Not Deco on a budget.

Fucking VVD. Could have become a GOAT tier CB by joining us and winning another CL.

Peak tiki-taka was a beauty, because initially no club had a response to this perfect passing game. I still hold the style in high regard, but you need world-class at DM, CM, AM and wingers to execute this. What Pep accomplished at Man City in 2023.

Flick's style is cost-effective, but costs a lot of energy from players. The way Klopp developed Liverpool, by 2019 he had players, who had lungs for 180 minutes of football. I believe Flick does the same, but you can't transform the mentality overnight, especially at FC Barcelona.

Flick can't play tiki-taka though. He has his style, and it's built on different principles to tiki-taka. Spanish and German schools of football are different in some key areas.

So it becomes very important to upgrade the squad in some key positions. CB and fullback are the most essential for me. Keeper also.

Flick's style is Klopp's heavy metal style but on steroids (and less balance).

We put up 100 shots on RM over 4 games this season, without ever playing at Camp Nou. No other manager in the world is gonna give you such attacking potency. But at the same side, his style is extremely taxing on the defense, and for the most part if your players are well-rested than the individual defensive errors won't show as heavily (because of the team's collective heavy press).

The team started shipping 2-3 goals every game the moment we ran out of gas.

Yeah. But he went under the Instagram radar of Bartomeu.

It's maddening we funded his transfer from Southampton by signing Coutinho, the greatest long range shooter... of 2016.

Think the chances of us signing a CB from Southampton are minuscule tbh, but it's still funny in a dark humor manner.
