You're acting like Flick was given 5 brand new, quality players.
Xavi was the one who was indulged and was still calling for new players after 2 seasons.
I mean I am fairly pro Flick, but if he fucks up the League from 2 (!!) winning positions with average points? Yeah, that's not good. But I don't want to be a miserable prick, we got this.

It it somehow happens it's officially Xavi > Flick though.

Ridiculous.

Flick can bottle every trophy, even theoretically impossible ones we already won and go trophyless, and he will still be better than Xavi

Please leave that comparison in November, thought it was settled for good

Because what? He's achieved so much in the great season of Covid?.

How do you judge managers?

What do they achieve and how their teams play with certain set of players, for me.

Flick this season and Xavi last have had rougly the same set of players. Flick got Olmo who never plays but lost the Joas and Gundogan. The most crucial players are the same.

And the difference?

Barca last season went trophyless and that in a very humiliating way. Level of football was nowhere near the level of top European rivals like Madrid and City.

This season, Barca plays arguably the best football in Europe and is feared by everybody. And you can also argue very simple details have seperated the team from a treble.

How come the results are so different with the same players if Xavi is a better coach?

Xavi had 3 seasons, 200 plus million in transfers and still exited the EL twice. We'll compare once Flick has finished.

Those players Xavi signed were key under Flick. He benefited from the squad improvements under Xavi big time. It's not like Xavi got Kounde, Lewa, and Kounde, even Ferran, and all those players didn't contribute under Flick. That 200m we spent was essential to make this season possible. Money well spent.

Flick is better manager than Xavi, but he has to win the league this season.

By winning the way every manager in every sport is judged.

Not really a Flick vs Xavi thing.

Just saying flick big wins as huge * beside them. Covid

He now needs to win when all things are equal if he wants to be considered a top manager the way fans here are quick to crown him without him actually winning a big Title, which is the league or CL.

That season was going normal up until March or April

And Bayern was easily up there with the best teams in Europe before Covid even started

They were winning it either way

Everybody considers him a top manager for the way his teams play it's just you

They probably get the title either way in 2020, but playing Lyon in the semis was insanely major luck. It happens once every 10 years or so. Don't remember Barca ever playing vs effectively an EL level team in the semifinals of the Champions League. It was always some tough opponent.

Nah he was considered a joke in Germany after the WC just Google it.

and unlikely to get a job there again or anywhere else actually.

After Bayern many wondered if it was all just a great one season.

No one puts his team in the same sentence as Heynckes Bayern or any other greatest team of all time conversation, that is just a straight up fabrication.

Because you know Covid, which is why lewa didn't win the Golden Ball.

Which he why he took this job on a relatively low salary to prove it wasn't all just a perfect storm of circumstances that led to that 1 good season.

"Same set of players" "Xavi had 3 seasons"... Disingenuous at best

Pedri alone racked up more than twice the minutes under Flick already compared to last year (4340mins vs 2000mins). Yamal is a completely different animal now vs then. Those two alone are our very key players. Every season tells its own story. Lets see how we finish.
