All-time great midfielders are the likes of Xavi, Iniesta, ZZ, Matthaus, Modric, Kroos, Platini, Rijkaard, Pirlo etc.
Ultimately this is the harsh reality of Football. Loyalty definitely affects your individual legacy.

In terms of ability, performances and clutch moments Gerrard is right up there with these midfielders. If you watch a Gerrard compilation you'll be able to see that.

Wish Stevie G was in the Klopp era and had the team trophies he deserved.

In terms of the most complete Footballers ever, I think the answer is Gullit and Gerrard.

These 2 can play at a world class level in so many positions. They have countless attributes.

You didn't really address my point of how this supposed team of complete bums was knocking out other great sides of that time in KOs, not just Milan.

Or what Dudek pulled off for a supposed complete bum on that night.
The team functioned well as a unit, Benitez was an outstanding tactician in his prime, obviously the Prime Stevie G factor and luck.

And yeah Dudek had the game of his life. Don't think even he knows how he pulled off that performance.

"Most complete" is an overrated thing tbh.

Legends are usually the ones who are extraordinary in at least couple of things, rather than those who has few weaknesses.

Gerard is indeed one of the most complete players I've ever seen. But it doesn't get him as much points as folks think it is.

Like how many traits you want in a midfielder, you would say Gerard was a top 5 in this century at?

I stopped responding. Man is obviously trolling

We need to put some 1-800 calls to put him back to work.
Imo don’t think he’s trolling.

He tries to unearth underrated gems of players in attempt to have non popular and “interesting” opinions to come off as having deeper understanding of the sports than most. But as is the risk with first-hand opinions, the opinions copy pasted from the internet can also be wrong from time to time.

If Konate is available we should be in for him so fast it's not even funny.

Time to elevate this defense big time.

Konate is quite injury prone but I do like him.

Can guarantee he’ll miss 15 odd games a season is the downside to him. Otherwise goes under the radar a bit.

I am trying to solve the puzzle as to likelihood of Alonso losing dressing room.

I mean, I don’t imagine him being a legend or inspiration to these players.

Only Carvajal and Vazquez might look at him like that. Modric as professional he is will show him a lot of respect.

Modric won't be there next year what's wrong with you
