This is true, and you also have to account for other teams improving.
We still don't know in May if we'll even be able to strengthen the team to the level we need to be back up there next season.
Could be another summer with FFP drama and uncertainty.

Also worth noting that his Bayern were much better in CL in their first season, and gradually got worse in time.

Also worth nothing that his Bayern were much better in CL in their first season, and gradually got worse in time.

Not a surprise since the only half-decent player they signed was Sane coming off a serious injury.

We’ll probably regress too if we’re unable to make proper reinforcements.

Yeah, and I think mental and physical fatigue does not go away after one season.

Not a fair comparison. that Bayern had very solid players from GK all the way to ST. There wasn't much to improve upon. There is a ton of personnel we could improve on with this squad. I am optimistic for next season.

Luckily for us our players will have a long rest and a proper pre-season with us not partaking in the Club World Cup.

So ample time to get set.

Personnel would improve no doubt (also depends on Lewa's season as he will be a year older). But the rest will likely be more complicated. Madrid will strenghten, PSG will probably get better in CL also, City can't be any worse, Madrid will be better.

Progression in the league is more linear.

There is no such thing as progression in the CL, at least not a clearly linear one. We blew a big chance because of injuries, but more importantly, stubbornness.

You manage to score 3 goals in a half on Inter at San Siro to go up 6-5? RM, even with dog shit defenders see that win out in their sleep.

This has been Barca and Bayern's Achilles Heel in Europe. Two clubs that underachieve massively in cup competitions for how dominant they are in the league and in general. Playing attacking football all the time and having no plan B is what loses you cups.

I'm still proud of some of the huge positives from this CL campaign but there is no denying it was a missed opportunity.

Exactly, can't be up by 1 with 5 minutes to go and not tell your players to manage the game as a coach.

Can't see how 100% of fans don't see this.

Need to make sure we don't lose the league.

I know 3 ass clowns are just chomping at the bits to ruin our season.

RM
Espanyol
EV and those Basque cunts.

If we manage to finish with the Cdr, LL and Supercopa, i still think we could consider this to be a very successful season.

The CL exit hurts but i think Flick has done a sensational job since no one gave us a chance for silverware at the start of the season.
Most Definitely, No way I thought we where going to fight on all fronts with this squad, B-team players and youth players. They have done superbly. But getting LL is going to be tough. Real have the far easier schedule left and depending if our fullbacks are back they might have the edge in Classico.

I couldn't deal if we lost the league this season

I don't care how it's done, just get the ball across the line.
I have serious doubts about it tbh.

The defense has just come apart, and we're leaking 2-3-4 goals a game to ANY semi decent opposition.
