La Liga Round 34: Valladolid - Barca 1-2

Embarrasing first half, and game overall. We're in such a slump in the worst possible time. But it's also a bit on Flick to try to start players he's barely given any minutes to. Should've rotated better earlier in the season when we actually won with 2-3 goals

That will pose big problems also. Not easily done to sub players when they are fresh and hungry for goals. Animosity will happen if not careful. Why are you subbing me and not this one, why this, why that...

My idea also. That's why I've said they shouldn't be starters. Balde I think only benefits from not having competition, he's mediocre.
That's right. Balde is the only left wingback profile at the club at this point.

But I attribute this more to the fucked up finances the club faced in recent years, not Deco or SD department directly. If not, he's an idiot.

Also, Flick's method is to rely on medical staff to tell him when players are overloaded. It's the best solution, but does not help much when the squad is so thin in quality. It's up to Laporta and Deco I'm afraid. How much they can swing it to give us 3-4 squad players. I'd take 3-4 solid squad options instead of a possible starter.

Players way too young to be throwing fits. Flick should start putting his foot down.

Horror show. The amount of passes piercing through the defense line... Let's hope Celta can at least draw so we can at least clinch

Putting foot down too often... is the start of the end. You generally don't want to reach that point as a manager.

Great result, now put everything into full recovery and full focus for the match of the season at Giuseppe Meazza.

Flick tried the safest approach to field Barca's weakest lineup against already relegated Valladolid. It backfired, but I'm fine with this W, second half was quite boring and effortless after the second goal.

Honestly I feel like it’s way better we didn’t do any theatric work or any commentary ahead of the Inter game.

I remember reading about the Barça-Inter 2010 2nd leg, that the players wore shirts that said they’ll play their skins out to reach the final. Now, it is more calmer and focused, less talk outside the pitch, more talk inside the pitch.
well yeah it was also a different situation, we lost the first leg away that time and it was a big shock to everyone. So they wanted to hype both the fans and themselves up for the home game remontada. This time with the first leg being 3-3 there's no reason to do that

The whole rotation stuff is overplayed (pardon the pun). 18/19 Barca rotated most of their players between the Liverpool games. Drew against Huesca 0-0. Liverpool still in a title fight played their strongest 11, beat Newcastle 1-2 with a late goal. A few days later we all know what happened.
