Liverpool were never this bad. They usually made top 4 or close to it and even made it to 2 CL finals within 3 years during their bad years, winning one (2005). Some of their teams were memorable like Fernando Torres or Suarez years.

Their bad years also collided with Thierry Henry's "invincible" Arsenal days, prime Mourinho's Chelsea days and United's Vidic-Ferdinand-Scholes-Giggs-Rooney-Ronaldo days for the most part.

This current United is only 18 points above relegation but 43 from the champions with negative goal difference and nowhere near the CL. They are incomprehensibly bad. Like, how is it even possible with their finances?

I’ll be honest with you:

No big twists have happened as of yet. But is getting more intruiging, also in combination with your comments.

Only thing that I have considered is
shutter island
esque twist. But considering characters vocation don’t know how that would work. Don’t know how I would feel about it.

I have said before I actually attempt not to work out the twist. Getting surprised is actually a testament to its quality and enjoy the “oh snap” feeling. nohomo.

I just hope its something dark. The daughter made an alarming comment. Maybe some
human experimentation
