This was last summer. My guess is after Barca's phenomenal season with Yamal and co., Barca and RM are probably neck and neck.
And way ahead of Yanited (although these bums are still hanging onto 3rd place while being garbage for 12 years).
They were definitely the most followed in 00s.
funny bloke
Think they benefited from being the face of the PL which became the face of football in the most populous regions of the world - Asia and Africa and even the Americas in the late 90s/00s.It's mighty impressive how they have retained their fanbase despite being a banter club for more than a decade now. Woodward was great commercially so the sponsors still love them.
City are now bigger than them in America so the results are starting to gradually affect their brand value.
Same for Liverpool fans, who had to endure 3 decades of mediocrity before Klopp arrived. It's mighty impressive how they have retained their fanbase despite being a banter club for more than a decade now. Most big clubs would lose half their fanbase if they had these results for this long.

Liverpool and City are big in the US now. Lots of new age plastic fans so it makes sense. Chelsea and Bayern have always had a pretty decent American fanbase.Think they benefited from being the face of the PL which became the face of football in the most populous regions of the world - Asia and Africa and even the Americas in the late 90s/00s.

The Hispanic people in the US usually support Real, Barca or some Mexican club.
United and Pool have this weird thing where they only win big titles with class managers. And both have never been dominant at the same time which kind of ruins their "rivalry".Last time man utd won the EPL was what 12 years ago? They'll go at least another 5-8 without winning at the rate they're going.

In terms of pure quality of Football, the best "rivalry" I have seen is Prime Klopp Liverpool vs Prime Pep City.United and Pool have this weird thing where they only win big titles with class managers. And both have never been dominant at the same time which kind of ruins their "rivalry".
From the managerial and tactical side yes.In terms of pure quality of Football, the best "rivalry" I have seen is Prime Klopp Liverpool vs Prime Pep City.
The most beautiful, end to end attacking football and best possible advert for the sport. It was edge of the seat entertainment for 90 minutes with both teams going toe to toe.
Pep and Klopp were hugging and kissing at full time and there was no bad blood so it's a joke of a rivalry but in terms of actual quality of games this was the best I have seen.
