Even if MATS was fit a month ago he wouldn't be playing today, there is no way we see any of him this season, I think his time is probably over here after this season. He also still has fair market value which is another reason why the club will consider a sale.

It won't go unnoticed that a retired Szczesny is helping us to a potential treble win whilst this guy is injured.

I hope so, I believe most fans are still living with PTSD due to some of his blunders. I just hope his influence isnt that huge to dictate a cemented spot in the first XI.

There is no chance MATS returns to start this season. Don't think any manager would take such a risk changing the keeper this late into the season, for someone who just returned from serious injury.

People act Courtois got to return just to keep the CL final. Courtois returned to keep games in La Liga if I recall. And Real had a huge point lead. So they probably used those games to gauge his form.

Let him collect the trophies and say farewell at the end of the season.
Too think it had to take an injury and a Xavi meltdown to change our fortunes us crazy.

Courtois warmed up with 4 easy league games ahead of the final, and sat on the bench in semis.

In their case Courtois is clearly a better GK than Lunin and a true match winner as proven before. The upside is a lot bigger than Marc vs Tek where Mats hasn't proven anything in CL since 10 years.

It's a gamble in both cases because the reserve has done well. But Courtois' situation is much easier to defend than Mats'.
