I would be very surprised if he stays for 4 season. I think this system is not sustainable for the long term, it went donwhill fast at Bayern too.

But I sure wouldn't want the Catalan Mourinho without the trophies after him.

I think Flick will adapt to the technical ability of players at Barca and players coming through.

Would be ridiculous as trainer to ignore it.

He'll renew until 2027.

Let's see. If we win a lot this season we will be expected to do it next season as well. Expectations will be higher and thus easier to fail.

Barcelona is a far more stable place for managers than Bayern München. Compare the tenures of the last 6 managers-

Barcelona -
Xavi - 2 years and 7 months
Koeman - 1 year and 2 months
Setien - 7 months
Valverde - 2 years and 6 months
Enrique - 3 years
Tata Martino - 10 months

Bayern -
Tuchel - 1 year and 3 months
Nagelsmann - 1 year and 8 months
Flick - 1 year and 7 months
Kovac - 1 year and 4 months
Heynckes - 8 months
Ancelotti - 1 year and 3 months

Are you kidding me bro, no Bayern manager since Pep Guardiola reached the 2 year mark. Barcelona does tire you but it is not hostile and extremely tiring like Bayern. Flick and Laporta have a strong relationship and this will surely guarantee us at least 3 years

Flick wasn't supported in Bayern even after winning the sextuple

My biggest hope is that we have a very young squad who could play this intense style of play. But for that we should replace the older players which we won't.

At a club like Barca you can't predict anything years in advance. He'll be here next season but things can quickly go bad and he won't survive it even if he wins a lot this season.

Hope Lucho or Slot are avaliable when it does.

So your argument that Flick will last 4 season is a list of coaches who didn't last 4 seasons at Barca? Ammm ok.

My argument is if you are a world class manager who doesn't rely on individual brilliance and works on perfecting their style of play like Pep, you can definitely stay for 4 seasons.

Only reason Lucho stayed for only 3 because his last season was a disaster and he left the ship before it fully sank

That's my point, it could happen to Flick too even if he wins a treble like Lucho did.

Hope Flick stays for 10 years because that would mean he's extremly consistent at winning but it's too early to talk about that. One bad season and you're out, this isn't Arsenal.

When's the last time a Barca coach lasted more than 3 seasons?

Excluding Pep who was at the start of career and had his start at B.

Even Lucho had a bad year 3 and rather than re-build some major changes, left.

If Flick makes 3 seasons it will be a good job. Reality is over the past few decades, we are not a club who allows a successful coach have a poor season and then rebuild.

Lucho wasn't as flexible in his tactics like Flick. You guys always forget that Lucho relied on MSN to win games and once they ghosted we paid the price for it heavily

There are only Pep and Cruyff in the modern history, arguably GOAT managers. Flick's season is great but he's still far from that status.

I don't really think Flick is flexible at tactics, why do you? If we don't go into details he "always" plays the same 4-2-3-1 that's based on pressing, direct attack and high defensive line. He played the same at Bayern and NT. It works for now but he didn't show that he's flexible.

Man I hope he stays forever but life is unfair and he's probably leaving after season 4

We need Arteta after he comes, when was the last time a great Barcelona manager left on good terms and his successor was also a great manager

Rijkaard to Pep.

What I mean by that is, there is always a way for us to win matches, we don't rely on individiuals or performances by the front 3. We always find a way to win games and when we have to, we defend leads in the best way possible

Rijkaard to Pep.
Unfortunately, Rijkaard although he was a good manager but left on the worst terms. 3rd place and 18 points off Real Madrid at the top of the table, out in the UCL semi finals to Man United (only positive of the season although we reached that point due to the easiest run in the history of this club) and trophyless for the 2nd year in a row. Same way 2023-24 ended in a way

They were both great managers for us. Frank built a lot of that Pep's team.

If you are looking who left on a high (winning big) and had his immediate successor also win big. I don't know. There aren't many examples in world football. Managers tend to stay after being successful
