There is a fifa intercontinental cup? And CWC.

What in the actually fly fuck lol

They renamed old CWC to fifa intercontinental cup.
Slightly different format (CL winner in the final, instead of Semi).

The new CWC is new tournament essentially, a revive of the one they had around 2000, with more funding and more practical approach (once every 4 years).

That's actually pretty good for us. Fuck the short term money, I believe giving players no summer rest for consecutive seasons will result even in worse injuries and teams running out of steam during next season way sooner. And it's not only about physical fatigue, but the mental one too. Players need to do something else for a month to recharge their mental state for the new season. Playing in the summer, having 2 weeks vacation until the season starts again sounds fucked up.
Clubs not participating in that show will certainly have an advantage. Especially because next summer is WC again. Let's see how many players will endure these schedules without having a summer off.

Yeah financially it is a blow for club but for players it is good rest particularly after this season.

Wouldnt be suprised if start to hear that clubs are not sending full strength squads anyway despite how much FIFA would threaten them.

I think the clubs will take this seriously, there is a huge prize. Players even take Nations League seriously lol.

We have a huge advantage for next season compared with other top clubs. We just have to take it easy in June and start our preseson normally. Our players will have a month more rest than those who go far in CWC.

On the other hand they'll get more money than us but I prefer one summer of rest.

They get an extra transfer window before the WCC. So there is potential of missing out on transfer targets with Madrid, PSG, City, etc being able to operate there.

Inter Miami should ask for loans for Barca players who are not playing much like Fort, Pau Victor, Pablo Torre and Fati for exposure

Surely a lot of players knackerd after this season will not want to be signing for clubs to play in CWC unless get decent amount of money for it.

I checked the timing of this and it doesn't look good, especially if one of the participants reach the CL final.

In the case of Madrid they end their season 25 May. They will have 3 weeks until CWC starts. Surely they want to train at least a full week ahead of playing "competitive" matches. At most 2 weeks of vacation. For CL finalist it would only be 1 week.

CWC final is 13 July. La Liga expected to start 16 August. Surely get a week or two off after CWC, then 2-3 weeks until Liga starts. Will be a long season if they go far especially with WC preparations mid-season too.

It's not good at all is it. And then next season you got the CL final 10 days before the start of the World Cup.
