This! Thank you very much! This is what I keep saying. Prime Barcelona is seen as the gold standard and every modern manager wants to emulate that. Pep inadvertently ruined Football in a way because every coach now wants to replicate his playing style but don't have the resources to pull it off. This harms a lot of mavericks and flair players at midtable clubs. We don't see many Payets at West Ham or Okochas at Bolton anymore. These midtable managers want to copy Pep and micromanage all the flair out of their games. Similar to what Pep did to Grealish who was terrific to watch at Villa. Pep can do it without criticism because he wins the big prizes. These midtable managers can't. Just reduces the overall entertainment value of the sport. Stop trying to be Pep and be your own unique manager. Nothing more cringeworthy than watching fucking Burnley trying to replicate Prime Barcelona with their crap squad. Zero self awareness and pragmatism.
