Madness for Utd fans to think they could even get Yamal, even if they went for him when he was 15. What these last few years have done, with all the Cantera kids coming through and being trusted with big game time, is cemented the next generation of La Masia stars as ours.

They would be fucking nuts to leave, even for a huge paycheck. La Masia lads play their best football in Catalunya. If they use the exit door, their career goes with them, Guiu being the latest example.

The thing is they are so finished as a club that they could probably buy the 'next Yamal' and end up turning him into Lingard.

They still don't realise their problems go far beyond one saviour of a player. At Barca, Yamal is supplemented by other excellent players. At United you'd have one superstar and still a terrible squad, a woeful manager, and a fucked up board.

He got an assist and had one or two really excellent crosses that could have been converted.

But what I like about the lad is he's very Messi-like in that he doesn't need to always get goals and assists to influence a game - he can do it with his link-up play, passing, dribbling etc.
