Shit game but top teams always have games like this in the group stages. The result basically means we win the group so I’ll take it and hope we learn from the game and improve for when the knock outs arrive.

The boss has spoken:

Xavi eventually concluded, saying, “Believe me, Barcelona is the most difficult club in the world. You win 1-0 and we keep seeing the glass half empty… We win and everything seems ‘small’.

Because only idiots think that playing like this will work against the top teams of the world.
Way we defended today you take 4 or 5 goals minimum against the top teams.

Also said the poor level of display is because we were missing Pedri and Frankie.
So how would that work if he had same players at disposal as Porto coach?

I keep hearing about learning but this was his 100th match as Barca coach already and levels of display have gone to worse.

Not progressing out of the group helped us a lot last season and the season before.

Saved us from some humiliations in R16 or - God forbid - QF

Unfortunately, this season we won't have that silver linining.
Even if we get lucky with an 'easy' (no team would be easy) draw for R16, can you imagine this shitshow of a team facing the top teams in QF??

If only we had Dembele, he would lead the way with decisive goals in CL semis :mou:

The thing is this game even today could have been lost 3 or 4 nil if the 50/50 decisions go against us.
Kounde can be sent off for that challenge, Cancelo would also be sent off for the handball if it stood, other players could have taken a second yellow for the tactical fouls...
The display was actually shocking and 1-0 is a crazy representation of what happened.
Not happy with this game at all and dont think the players are either. Going to get embarrassed again if dont change the tactics ASAP.

The worrying thing is the fans can identify what's wrong before the management

Seen tons of fans pointing out how Romeu is tanking the team and that the attacking fullback pair of Balde and Cancelo is leaving team too open on counters.

Both takes been absolutely correct from the start. Why are we still seeing this?

Because the Hernandez brothers are brainless, sad but true.

Yeah yeah we won 1-0, top teams have these type of games etc etc but this is going to get ugly vs one of the big boys.

Romeu is the obvious problem right now, Frenkie missing compounds it but he can't play at this level, something needs to be done in January.

I am really tired of this shit.
Because the shocking displays never stop. And it's maddening that he keeps hiding behind results.
And Laporta and the board keep hiding behind results as well and don't take the necessary decisions

How long has he been here? It's almost 2 full years since he took over.
In 2 whole years, the only period where the team looked like progressing in playing football was 2 months in early 2022.
Especially since 22/23 season started, this team is regressing rather than progressing

Playing with Romeu in this team is like putting Gerard Gumbau into our treble winning team.

Fucking insane how far off the level he is compared with the rest.

Players avoiding passing to him and forming sequences without him to avoid him miscontrolling or back passing

Romeu on front of Kounde and Araujo who as a pair are average at best on the ball then Gavi chasing the ball all over park but rarely in best areas to receive it and progress game.

Barca could barely get ball through midfield and to control of game in any meaninful way.

Either side of those have two full backs trying to play in CM or wing.

All just a a chaotic shambles.
