It's a return to the early 2000s call-up Spain with a very mediocre looking squad.

Gabi Veiga should be there ahead of Fabian, but maybe he gets a call now Pedri is out.

Also why is Olmo even there considering he has hardly played, and when he has been largely out of form.

I hardly new anyone there besides Messi, Maria and Ota, all washed up geezers at club level now. All around mediocre players playing for mediocre clubs and couple semi retired superstars. Spain doesn't have later, but plenty of former. ARG had lifted spirit, good coach, Messi on his last dance and God providing. Nothing to do with quality of their players.

Those "mediocre players playing for mediocre clubs" are being linked or already had moved to a big club.

Messi is the best player in that team but the other players played a big role in the WC and can only get better.

Some of them are moving to big clubs, because of world cup. Watch them move back to mediocre ones after that.

No, you don't have enough knowledge on the topic. Argentina have a ton of promising young players coming up, a new generation (on top of those who already played in the WC). Spain doesn't have even 5-6 bar the usual suspects.

Just to chime in.. Enzo Fernandez is already a very good player and is young. Mac Allister will be at a top club next year, 9 goals in 25 games for Brighton this year in his position is class, also had a strong season last year and probably should have got a move to a bigger club. De Paul and Paredes are average but overall that's a solid midfield for next world cup. Lisandro Martinez (probably top 3 EPL cb this season) paired with Romero is a very strong centre back pairing. Alvarez and Lautaro Martinez as striker options are good. Garnacho looks nailed on for LW for the next decade if he keeps progressing. Also Emi Martinez will still be in goal. Only place they'll be short is left back and RW unless there's someone I'm missing. Can't see Messi being at a good enough level for next world cup in any position.

They are not World Class, but I think it would be a disservice to call De Paul and Paredes as average.

Agree with the rest of your post.
-LB is something Scaloni will need to think about and there's a some few candidates like Franco Carboni from Inter and Lautaro Blanco from Elche (this guy should have went to a better club imo)
-RW maybe Soule from Juve, but I could see Scaloni playing Dybala as the false RW while Molina covers the whole right wing.

By 2026, possible line up

---------------------------Alvarez (26)
Garnacho (22)------------------------Dybala (32)
--------------MacAllister (27)-------RDP (32)
----------------------------Enzo (25)
???-------Lisandro (28)--------Romero (28)-------Molina (28)
----------------------------Emi (33)

A bit crazy how still young the current core of the team is.

Spanish talent pool has dried up massively. Would be a team on the level of Slovenia and Slovakia without Pedri-Gavi.

Spain has a good talent pool in midfield, with Gavi, Pedir, Bajcetic & Pablo Barrios who are already playing in big clubs, along talents like Gabri Veiga, Aleix Garcia (not so young tbf), Fran Beltran & Oihan Sancet who are mostly destined for bigger move soon, even forum non favourite Zubamindi is actually fairly good. Along some other names like Rodri who is already a very good midfielder, Llorente who is serviceable and other potential names who isn't in Primera yet like Torre or Alberto Moleiro who might turn into something.

Fullbacks are also fairly covered, with Balde as LB along some other names like Grimaldo and Gaya who still have 4-5 years in good level. Freisnada and Arnau Martinez should take over RB at some point soon

GK is solid but not WC

On wings there are some usual suspects like F.Torres, Olmo, Nico Williams & Yeremy Pino

All not bad if they have an elite CB or a goal scoring threat, which they both lack massively.
Both Pau Torres and Laporte are serviceable in the back, but non is really elite, and I can't see a single potential attacker they have who is a goal scoring threat.

The moment they can get a proper 9, this is a totally different team tbh.
