Top 5 league through ball leaders (by fbref, so it can be different than other sources):

- Bundesliga: Kimmich with 19 (0.92 per 90)

- Laliga: Pedri with 19 (1.05 per 90)

- Serie a: Dominguez with 13 (0.74 per 90)

- Premier league: De Bruyne with 21 (0.98 per 90)

- Ligue 1: Messi with 40 (1.95 per 90) :worthy:

Pedri is the youngest, at 20. Insane potential. Best midfielder itw soon :worthy:

Tru. Let's just hope he will stay healthy and then sky is the limit for this kid.

also, "finished" Messi still in the league of his own. :worthy:

Ofc having Mbappe in his team helps but Messi would have that many through balls in any team. He just sees and tries passes that others players don't. Now what players worse than Mbappe (so basically everyone except Messi, lol) would do with his through balls is another thing obviously.

I'd love to clone Messi and have this "old"/experienced version of Messi assisting a young Messi who was scoring for fun. I know in 2011 besides 91 goals he also had like 60+ through balls which was crazy itself but even playing with some of the best players ever in that team they sometimes still couldn't keep up with his football IQ or couldn't finish of as many chances he created for them as he alone could. Messi to Messi combo alone would probably produce like 300 goals a season.

In 2018/19, he produced 70 through balls in Liga (fbref stats) :worthy:

The best of through ball pass ever.

Messi at younger ages was already great passer. Look at his assist vs Real in 2010. He simply see things that unseeable.

Pedri is already one of the best in Europe at 20 :xavi:

Our only midfielder that can be in the same sentence as kimmich & KDB.

Still young & learning though.

Will say it again.. a 'proper' DM and Barca have best midfield in the world with that DM and FDJ/Pedri.

FDJ/Pedri are up there with top few for what they bring to team.

Need to let Pedri settle into that AM role now and not forcing him into a three with Gavi as the balance for now is not there at all when try it. Although Pedri/FDJ deepers as a pair is also class but need Pedri higher up than that.

He likes number 8 but if club give him no 10 then i don't see any reason he will refuse. And he seems to be the perfect one to wear no 10. Young, already world class (or at least borderline WC), very marketable and his style of play is actually a 10.
