Happy for Messi!

When Netherlands scored at the end of regular time, I thought they were going to lose. Before the penalties, even more so. Very impressed that Argentina didn't miss any of the first 3 penalties. Thought they would crumble under pressure.

I'm impressed by the mentality of Argentina NT this time. The squad stepped up their game after the Saudi Arabia circus. This Mac Alister guy has genuine Irish fighting spirit in him.

Wish well to all of our many Croats here, but I root for Messi.

CR's exit (0-0 in WC knockout games) gives Messi a clear-cut chance to immortalize his victory in the great debate between the two. I am full team Messi at this point. It would be a disservice to football as a game if someone like CR7 has an equal claim to the GOAT status as Messi when they retire.

I don't think anyone believes he would ever have an equal claim. Messi is comparable and is compared only to Maradona and Pele. CR is never in the conversation with those 2. But for some reason his fanboys tried to slot him in a comparison with Messi.
Also, Messi already done enough at 35 this WC, wining it against France (if they ever pass Croatia) would be a monumental over achievement.

LVG has cancer. What an absolute dick response by Messi to act like that. Total fucking wanker. Some times you take the high road and ignore stuff like that. I'm not even a fan of LVG but he deserves respect.
Messi is the greatest player this club has had but he's a tool.
