World Cup 2022

None of the countries competing have any right to 'stick it' to anyone. If they felt that strongly about human rights issues they would refuse to participate.. they didn't. Thus, it's virtue signalling and their gestures should be ignored.

They'll stick it

Should have changed their captains each game if they really wanted to protest. Or go all out and tattoo a rainbow on their faces.

World Cup lost its shine about 20 years ago because you see most of these players playing at a high level in Europes best competitions most weekends.

Every league is covered on tv now and every player plays in Europes top leagues. Historically, The World Cup was quite often the chance see these amazing players you only read about in magazines/newspapers or the odd clip but never got to see regularly.

But players will always love it, because it only comes around every 4 years and chances to win it for any player is so slim.

Yesterday Qatar, today Iran, tomorrow Saudi Arabia. Shitshow. And then there is the idea of extending to 48 teams.

I think if you asked every footballer what trophy they’d like to win, the majority would say the World Cup first and foremost.

I don't know how similar this Iran team is to that 4 years ago, but shows you how an athletic side will boink other weaker ones. Maguire just bullying that dude on the header from corner.
I'd expect Wales to do similarly well, but they play a bit more shit than England

Why not? After all the small teams will always scream that they're being left out and how it wouldn't be good to have competitions involving best teams(a la Super League). On the other hand people are complaining that the quality is very low and it dilutes the competition.

So just a case of deciding what we want. Technical level in football seems to be going down. But I guess many that love this shite with 22 athletes running around doing lots of pressing will be happy.

It isn't. Could say that about group stages of any cup comp

General level of international football is Subpar compared to club football. Tactics are hilariously bad is just one of the many reasons.

Should definitely not be increased to 48 teams would be shit and conference league level football at best in majority of cases teams that miss out had chances to make it so tough luck.

I am okay with Portugal and Argentina winning. How about that. I honestly like everyone. I would rather Ronaldo won Russia 18 if it meant shutting the debate once and for all. Its just that I have a deep disdain for most football fans, because they think, "I am watching a sport" so I can be a cunt who hates all enemy players.

Yes, it's only natural for matches to be worse when including more relatively poorer teams. The sieve should stay the same size for sure, perhaps just change the barriers to entry, like they did with qualifying spots through League of Nations

Tactics and systems aren't the focus in a comp where players get together to train 5 times a year. It's just weird to measure it by club standards. It's a test of rapid cohesion and adaptability from both players and coaches. Just different way to go about the sport.

Are you a regular Madridista who claims "we are the best ever, fuck all other B teams" or are you a decent bloke? I really want to know you guys.
