Manchester City got dumped out of the group stages under Pep?

No Yaya Toure, David Silva, Aguero, Kompany, Dzeko etc arrived a few years before Pep. They got dumped out under Mancini two years on the trot despite winning the league.

Pep's first season the lost in r16 to that Monaco team of Bernardo, Fabinho, Mbappe etc

I think things have improved. We played full game of 90 minutes yesterday not looking gassed(imo improvements conditionally started under Koeman). We did not pass ball aimlessly. Actually were attacking Inter goal even when they were defending with whole team. No aimless passing from left side to right side trying to find a gap.

Building team takes time. Hate to do the obvious and point to Arteta like others have done so.

Did we really play 90 minutes?
We fell of a cliff in 2nd half for 2nd game this week, it was only when Inter sit back we were able to attack them.
Even Xavi himself admit we were far worse in 2nd half
Oh, and same thing happened against Bayern too, we were far superior in 1st half than 2nd one.

Building teams takes time, but it takes more time if you don't have the right people and give them time. It becomes a wasted time.

How many years did Arsenal waste with Continuing with Wenger? With Emry?
Liverpool did it too, Manu with Solskaer and list goes on.

Xavi himself requested the likes of Lewandowski because he wants to win now, and should be judged by such.

Again, excuses and excuses comes from Xavi. He thinks we played well? We were abysmal. Fact is, he can only beat teams that are a lot inferior to this Barca. Something a bit better, and we crumble.

But it is not a coincidence that Pep is performing week in, week out. One can have the best tools but without the ability to use these tools, it is all for naught.

Mancini is levels below Pep.

I like Xavi as a motivator, as an inspiration, but I have no confidence that we could even beat Tottenham, Arsenal or even Man U rn. This after a 200m investment.

Most here will never admit that. It's fact though.
the 19/20 team with Messi and Suarez in there was the worst Barca team since the Gaspart days,
Koeman improved that team in 20/21 but couldn't do so much with Messi still being the center, with Griezzy and Cou still there

Birdy logic:
- a team that won its CL group that year
- a team who got dumped out in the QF of CL
- a team who was in first place before valverde got sacked
- a team who had setien as manager for the rest of the season

was the worst barca team since the gaspart days - worse than the teams that couldn't even get out of their respective CL groups. sound logic

Was Oscar, his brother, a football manager before us? Just curious what Xavis right hand mans credentials are.

It's funny you say that. I was going to say that Xavi should have looked for an experienced dance partner like Juanma Lillo. But then I saw Lillo went on to replace Xavi at All Sad.

Xavis delusional persona and lack of awareness were real red flags as a player. As a manager these things get magnified even further.
He required an experienced number two who was strong on the tactical side. Instead he got his brother who is a scrub.
How much time do we give him? Kounde,Lewa and the others didn't come here to play Europa League . The minimum we required after 200 million invested was qualification for the job stage.Even Koeman managed that. People bring up Arteta but Arteta has won one FA cup so far I believe. Arsenal are doing well at the moment but it's only October. Arsenal are very capable of imploding and their squad isn't that deep . So basically Arteta hasn't done jackshit so far. Also Arteta at least had his apprenticeship in the EPL under Pep. Xavi is arrogant enough to think the Qatari league is enough to prepare him for one of the biggest jobs in world football.
I would sack Xavi now and get Tuchel or Pochettino in on an interim basis and see how they go. Giving Xavi time is not giving us stability, it's giving us stagnation. Time to shake things up.

It was the worst team until the 2021-2022 and this seasons.
Not getting out of cl groups is certainly worse than winning it, isn't it?
Difference is that was a team of heavy decline on it's last legs and the current one is a team on the rise that can only get better. And we are indeed better than last season, although mostly due to better individuals.

We rely heavily on our better players for each position which is not weird at this stage, so missing our whole defense is much more impactful for us than Bayern missing same or mane. They are well drilled over the years we are new.

Is this your manager?

Xavi's Bar?a have only won one Champions League match out of the six they have played.

Valverde haters deserve this
