Erling Braut Haaland

He's going to City 99%, but the official statement only confirms that they have met his release clause and personal terms are yet to be agreed.

Barcelona (or anyone) could for example meet the same clause and release the very same statement.

Everyone reporting it as done and you're thinking he suddenly turns away and signs for another club. It is clear they've discussed things in advance.

It wouldn't be the first time a player decided in last minute to sign for another club :pique:

But yeah it's to 99,9999999% done. Pep and Haaland - a duo of maestros! :worthy:

So was the Haaland transfer worthwhile for Dortmund considering achievements, sale clause and replacement cost?

I mean, it worked well in developing Haaland but it didn't make Dortmund any more competitive nor as much profit as the likes of Dembele, Sancho, and to be, Bellingham.

Joined them for 20M and leaving them for 60-75M.
Would say it was good, got 2 years of the best attacker they had since Lewandowski left and 40M to cover for the money paid to him and his agent.

He should have came to us , make us champions and be venerated like a God in the press and by the fans because of that.

Instead he went the money route to the best team in the world.

At least he didn't went to RM.

I think it was worth it. The club wants to develop - and it has the right to do so. No one knows what kind of acquisition will make the club stronger or weaker. This is known only in hindsight.

Definitely. Profit wasn't that huge but he was a pretty safe bet compared to Sancho who was signed at 17 years or even Dembele.

Getting a striker who scores 85 goals and 23 assists in 88 games and 50 mil on top of it, i'd say most clubs especially the ones of Dortmunds caliber would take that trade any day.

They could never sign a player like this otherwise, and you can't always gamble on hitting the next Sancho like jackpot. Of course Haaland didn't make them challenge Bayern in the league but last season they were only 4 points ahead of 5th place for example despite Haaland scoring 27 goals, so it's not like Bayern is the only focus for them. Who knows how they would've done with a flop CF, even this season that wasn't all that great and plagued by injuries Haaland still contributed 21 goals.

Haaland to City
Mbappe and Rudiger to Real M.
Lewandowsky most likely stays with Bayern

Who do we get? Lukaku, Mukaku and Dukaku? The damage Bartomeu did to this club is 100 times bigger than we think. It will take more than 5 years to rebuild this team.

That's fair. Trophy wise all they got was a German Cup and no closer to Bayern than without Haaland. With transfer fee and sale, they basically broke even to sign Adeyemi.

I'd say the deal done more for Haaland than what Haaland done for Dortmund. But that's down to Dortmund not surrounding him with the necessary players to challege for the league.
