The most frustrating part is I don't know what is going to take to change that. Is it as simple as changing the training regimen to make it more intense? I felt our overall club philosophy, starting from La Masia and up, doesn't emphasizes so much the physicality and pacey part of the game and hence it is not ingrained in our DNA to play like that. It is OK but we have to have some sort of plan, a solution to counter that.

If we know we are going to struggle against certain style of play or teams and we don't do anything, it is our own fault that we lose.

easy, you need a german coach

Easy to point to Busquets and Alba, but the issue tonight were the younger guys being clueless positionally for me - especially the CBs. Araujo and Garcia looked their age. Hopefully Christensen can bring in experience.

Pedri and Gavi didn't look solid either, but that's another story. Not defending Busquets though.

We lack quality player in their mid 20's.

Was this our worst humiliation?
I don't think so. 8-2 will always be the one.

8 - 2 was in the CL and from a lot better team. On that day we were completely kaput. You can not compare Eintracht to Bayern. They are currently at 9-th place in the Bundesliga. And Barcelona are second in a lot more competitive league. Recently, they have played some very solid games and the hopes very very high after that draw in Frankfurt. My opinion is that we lost this game because Xavi could not adjust to their playing style. Also we need some creativity from Pedri and Gavi. They were both useless tonight.

Now, lets look at the stats sheet of the game.

BALL POSSESSION:

Barcelona - 75%
Eintracht - 25 %

PASSES:

Barcelona - 683
Eintracht - 232

SHOTS:

Barcelona - 10
Eintracht - 15

CORNERS:

Barcelona - 5
Eintracht - 0

Having that kind of possession on the ball and still 0:3 at the 90-th minute !!! It means nothing, when the ball is not moving forward vertically and is not creating clear situations for goal. That said, Aubameyang has missed at least 3 very clean chances to score, Feran also. Xavi has to learn how to play against parked buses.

Possession play is meaningless when there is no forward movement or chances get wasted consistently. The cons of the system are slow build up and complacency in the opponent's final third. Adjustments should be made to get the ball up field with urgency for scoring opportunies when feet is to the fire and the team is down a goal or two.

EDIT: Also need to add the fact that haram ball is immediately established to neutralize teams that dominate in posession. In this case, adjustments need to be made to open the field back up and made the opposing team reveal gaps of space that can be exploited.

I'm still stunned. What makes it even worse was seeing these fat, middle aged chicks who were Eintracht fans yelling themselves hoarse while trashing our fans and players. Some clearly had had too much to drink while others were trolling us.

That part sounds a bit entitled, in my opinion. The EL is not a consolation title that is easy to win, there were and are still some good teams in the tournament, I don't think we should assume if we failed in the CL, a club of our caliber should automatically win the EL.

Losing at Camp Nou is bad, the fact that were like 30K Frankfurt fans today was really embarrassing but the football part, the defeat itself, wasn't too bad for me. We are not there yet. Liverpool was in the EL several years ago, so was Dortmund, we should just keep working and get back to where we belong. Soon enough.

It's not being spoiled but having high expectations. Everytime United played in EL they were also the favourite. It's what big clubs are supposed to do in EL. Btw, United did always better than us. :(

And I also believe any other team fan saw Barca losing to Frankfurt as a massive loss for sure. This was typical Barcelona shit show in Europe.

Nothing worked as it used to in our play. Though for me EL wasn't an essential objective the way they lost vs. mighty Frankfurt at home is unacceptable and left me completely disgusted.

Well, I think it's time for me to take a break from football. I need my mind to be focused on other things, to cleanse a little bit. Yesterday's match made me realize how much my spirit is affected by how Barca plays and I'm not feeling comfortable with this kind of influence in my life.
I'll probably be back sometime next season, we'll see. Until then, take care y'all!

Might do same. Good luck.

Actually - I do not. I have seen Frankfurt against Bayern and they rise in some of the matches especially knockout matches. Frankfurt can really be tough to play with their physicality and La Liga for sure is not about physicality. And then you just have to add a game in which the "underdog" converts its chances and the better team underperforms or does not convert its chances and runs against a wall...

I often think that it is easier to play against top teams of minor leagues than against the "behind top"-teams of the better leagues - even if you might think that they are levels but whereas this top teams do not have the quality but are used to have the ball in their own league and therefore aren't used to really fight for it - teams like Frankfurt are.
