In addition, there remain separate questions over Djokovics confirmed positive test on December 16 and his subsequent meeting with children at a public event in Belgrade the next day, which would have broken Serbias own 14-day quarantine rules following a positive test.

It's good for him anyways he's getting deported, no way he would have been able to handle that crowd. 80% of the country wants him gone lol.
You're deluded. Crowd would cheer him like they cheered Trump. Don't know what kind of specimen you are, but normal people don't like riot police harassing them around for not doing absurd mandatory tasks. You people are crazy, if you think majority is totalitarian bootlicker crowd like you are.

The Sydney Morning Herald and The Age can reveal the Department of Home Affairs? investigation into the tennis star has widened to include his breach of isolation requirements in Serbia, the incorrect statements on his travel entry form and inconsistencies on the date of his COVID-19 test.

Home Affairs is now looking into this discrepancy. The maximum penalty for giving false evidence under the Crimes Act is a prison sentence of five years.

The department is also probing fresh questions over whether Djokovic?s positive result for COVID-19 was manipulated after inconsistencies emerged about the timing and result of his PCR test.

People's Voice Poll from Painted Dog Research conducted Tuesday and Wednesday ? as Immigration Minister Alex Hawke contemplated cancelling the Serbian's visa ? found 81 per cent of West Australians wanted Djokovic deported.

What legitimacy do Australian officials have regarding the investigation of his actions in Serbia? It's the business of Serbian authorities. Makes no sense at all.

Him breaching isolation in Serbia is not a proof that he was not positive.

They have a monumental task to prove his test was actually not positive. I think it's nearly impossible.

Should just cancel it for his 'human error' on entry form and leave it there.

If he was an average Joe he would have been deported long time ago.

Aussies seem to be pretty strict about it. Comparable with US.

They just chickened out a bit because of the whole media circus and poor decisions.

TalkSPORT today. The commentator said that Aus gov want him out. Would prefer he withdraws with a hamstring. Djorkovic too proud/ incensed to do that. If he did he can come back to Aus next year. If they deport him, goodbye for 3 years.

Hence Aus gov delay .

Federal Opposition Leader Anthony Albanese the Labor leader had to say:

How is it that a ... visa was granted in the first place?
This has been diabolical for Australia?s reputation, just in terms of our competence here and it is extraordinary that - as we are speaking - we still don?t know what the decision will be.
The decision should have been made before he was granted a visa. Either he was eligible or he wasn t.
Australia has a policy of not allowing unvaccinated people into Australia. It is beyond my comprehension how we have got to this point.
[Australians with relatives overseas] know how tough it is to get someone into Australia. At any time it is difficult, but at this time, in particular, it is extremely difficult.
Why is it those checks and balances werent in place for ... someone so prominent?

Deputy Prime Minister Barnaby Joyce was also on the Today show this morning, and had this to say prior to Mr Albaneses appearance:

The vast majority of Australians ... don t like the idea that another individual, whether they re a tennis player or the King of Spain or the Queen of England, can come up here and have a different set of rules to what everybody else has to deal with.
Whether they agree with the rules or not, they believe they should abide by the rules and that was the issue with Novak Djokovic.
I think that the rules that one person follows is the rules everybody should follow.
[Djokovic] is still a child of God like the rest of us, isn t he. So he has to abide by the laws.

No decision on Djokovic today

Immigration Minister Alex Hawke will not be making a decision tonight on whether to cancel Novak Djokovics visa as the saga drags into its seventh day.

Prime Minister Scott Morrison

But Mr Morrison said there had been no change from yesterday.

I will refer to Minister Hawkes most recent statement in that the position hasnt changed, he said.

These are personal ministerial powers able to be exercised by Minister Hawke and I dont propose to make any further comment at this time.

But if you could take the nation’s temperature, I reckon it would indicate people are growing pretty tired of hearing from extraordinarily well-paid sportspeople sounding off about COVID and vaccines and the sacrifices they’re making so we can watch them play sport.

With livelihoods and loved ones being lost, with hospitals at bursting point as nurses work 36-hour shifts, with people roaming the streets like zombies searching for rapid antigen tests and booster shots and two-ply toilet paper, with the elderly and disadvantaged fearing how they’ll survive this mess, now seems like the right time for the out-of-touch sportsperson to display humility and grace.

And to shut up.

Meh i dont get this mass hysteria about vaccination. Do a fuckin PCR test. Positive? Gtfo. Negative? Great, welcome.

PCR tests should weigh more than the vaccine covid pass as that pass is not a free-from-covid-certificate, nor does it guarantee he wont spread the virus if he happens to be infected.
