Even if Laporta was telling the truth, there was no need for him to come out and say this now, after the whole situation was accepted without hard feelings (mostly) by fans and Messi himself. The only thing this achieves is make Messi seem in a bad light and damage his legacy a tiny bit. You can only hope that's not intentional, but chances are he's now resorting to the same means as the previous board to make himself look better. I thought Messi leaving was already a sad/unworthy end to the story, would hate for it to now get a bitter note as well.
