Messi saying its the best place to win the champions league. Did he not watch city best psg even though they didn't play that well last year. Bayern hammered them on chances created and Chelsea are a stronger all round team. Would fancy united over them as well now especially with varane and sancho. Its all a little strange. Either his dad got some extra money for the deal or his wife said Paris or nowhere or he just thought he's 34 and he needs to do down the league level and not go up.

His objective is quite clear actually. Anyone without prejudice will understand.

With Argentina clause and today press about UCL, PSG is an obvious choice. Contender for UCL and got several Argentina teammates that he can train together which will provide some better result in national team also.

He give no fuck about Ligue 1. World Cup and UCL.

Not without those teams changing things for him, wich the best managers don't want to do.

it is the chance of a lifetime to get someone like messi. every top manager would want him, especially clubs like city or psg who need to be recognized.

the fact is psg had way more leverage with neymar and the argies there. plus special clause to play for argentina. plus france/paris feels closer for messi, from a language and lifestyle perspective.

I don't think it's implausible that City or Bayern wouldn't sign Messi despite him being the greatest to ever play the game. Bayern and probably more so under Naglesmann (especially with his love for gegenpressing) requires every player to work like crazy off the ball too, you watch a Bayern game and notice how hard Lewa and Muller work off the ball as well as on it something that especially goes under the radar for Lewa.

34 year-old Messi you don't get that, despite his incredible abilities on the ball, they probably wouldn't sacrifice their whole system for one individual at a late stage in his career. Of course 20's Messi is a whole different story, anyone would bend over backwards to have him.

That Argentina team are not in the top 5 for the world cup. Its a long shot to waste a few years in that league. Yes the world cup is the ultimate legacy barometer but doing it in the premier league is close and that is very achievable for messi

If chance of a lifetime you dont let signing Grealish stopping you do it then.

Dont think Pep was ever that keen on him at City due to players they have and way he wants to play plus having already won with him.

As said before dont think likes of Klopp would want him either due to his age, way have to give up certain ideas to sign him and way would have to change way team plays.

Not as simple as all teams would want him or coaches want to coach him.

1. or he just wanted money
2. or he think the strongest team is the one with the highest amount of South Americans.
You know that he has some weird obssession with South American signings.
Neymar, Suarez, Lautaro, Aguero, that Argentinian defender who signed for Tottenham, some random Argentinian winger from a world cup 2018 etc

We joked how Lucho only knows players from La Liga.
Similarly, it seems that Messi only knows/rates players from South America and guys like light Spanish midfielders.

Argentina have a very solid side. By far strongest squad even than when got to WC final bar maybe a younger Messi.

maybe it was getting grealish, maybe they knew what messi wanted and that they wouldn't be able to compete with psg.

i guess many think of it from a technical perspective, like pressing and all that. if(hypothetically) messi would have said he wants only germany or england, you're damn sure that bayern and all major english clubs would have spammed him with contracts.

Money.
Easy trophies to over take Alves.
One of favs for CL.
Friends.
Can rest up in sub par league and cruise to title under no pressure and win all the domestic trophies.
More energy and time to focus on Argentina.

Lot of reasons PSG suit him.

Messi What's App Message has leaked in his Barca group :

I don't want to leave Barcelona but I don't have an Option. There's no money and Barca is in Danger. It's impossible for them to give me a contract.

Alot of people take this hobby too personally.

It is worth talking about the dark side of Leo Messi because it's clear it's there.

Something worth discussing imo

He has a dark side because he doesnt want to stay at a club that's in ruins, and cant even offer him a 50 percent pay cut? He was led on for months believing he'd sign a new contract so no it isn't his fault that he wanted to move after this. He is also his own person and had a right to say he was fed up after being proposed three successive pay cuts over months, every time told it was the last one.

World class players would also like to be paid their worth and at least be able to deal with a professional club who can at least tell them how much they are actually able to offer them.
